Meanwhile I'm still here working for Pharma and coming up with more ways for them to make MORE money!

$1,000... my deductible is $6,750 for me + spouse. $1,000 is a steal these days

Yeah it sucks. Trump is so clueless

@EY1 I'm not blaming Trump (not that his plan would make it any better though which is what I think @A1 meant). I'm pointing out how messed up the American healthcare system is currently and has been for a while

like

Health insurance is in critical need of an overhaul and we are lacking the leadership to do it... SOOOO frustrating

like

Yup I mean turned out to be no deductible but that's insane like a lot of people can't afford this

My deductible is like $3k. Oh to be young and healthy! 😊

You do mean deductible and not copay, right OP?

Yes @P1

Your deductible is high because you don't pay much higher premium. It's just a matter of pay in front or after.

Wait how are you possibly blaming trump for this?... we live in the era of Obamacare aka higher premiums higher deductibles to offset the cost of people who don't pay for insurance

How do I know if I’m just stupid or my mental health is affecting me? I’ve recently found myself struggling at work. It all started when I had to prep slides for a client training shortly after I rotated into a new seat. I spent a lot of time reading but couldn’t understand anything. Then there was another research task which I also struggled with (reading but not processing) that made me doubt my capability. I had depression/anxiety last year but thought I recovered. (cont.)

I go on maternity leave soon, and my firm offers 16 weeks paid leave, which I plan to fully take advantage of. The only female shareholder in our office keeps pushing me to only take 6 weeks though, because that's what she did. I feel really put off by her comments, but its also making me feel guilty about taking the full time. This is mostly a vent, but if anyone wants to give me some words of wisdom or thoughts, I will take them!

I’m realizing I have a lot of fear—mostly related to health stuff and death. Feel like people are getting sick left right and center (not talking about covid). I’ve never had anyone close to me become very sick or die—don’t know what I would do if this happened. I’m also overly concerned about my health and seem to be at the doctor every month to get something checked. Can anyone relate or provide suggestions on how to overcome something like this?

I spent the last 3 months "growing up" & now I'm ready to go. 1st thing is for me to get my own place. I'd like to buy instead of rent because I don't want to pay someone else's mortgage. I'm thinking of selling my car & cash out some of my 401k to buy a house. My thought is to put down 3.5% for a FHA loan then make a big payment towards the principal to reduce long-term interest. Anything wrong with this thinking or anything else I should consider?

I got 7 interviews deep for a role in-house at a company that I'd really like to work for. They said they'd keep me in mind for future openings in the department. It's been 4 months and I haven't heard about any opening roles. They do have a role that is tangentially related to my skill-set (would be a stretch for me, but maybe in a good way?), but I'm concerned that shooting for this and missing might reflect badly for an opening that would be more in my wheelhouse. Thoughts?
