Congratulations on identifying that communities are poorly mixed due to decades of redlining and limiting loans and community investments. Referring to in-group crime allows framing crime as a them vs them issue to say “not my problem”. People who reference black on black crime are overwhelmingly using it to avoid focus on a less pleasant analysis. Focus your attention where it’s uncomfortable. It’s more of a challenge to research and learn about.
I'm sure you know what I'm trying to convey.
Hey OP, did you know that poor urban whites have a higher rate of violence toward each other at a rate of 56.4 per 1,000 compared to poor urban Blacks at a rate of 51.3 per 1,000?
Or that persons in poor households at or below the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) (39.8 per 1,000) had more than double the rate of violent victimization as persons in high-income households (16.9 per 1,000).
Or that persons in poor households had a higher rate of violence involving a firearm (3.5 per 1,000) compared to persons above the FPL (0.8-2.5 per 1,000).
It’s almost like poverty is the root cause we should be addressing 🤷🏻♂️
Side bar: why aren’t white mass murders, white school shootings, and white serial killings called “white-on-white” crime?”

SM2 - this data doesn’t prove your point. Blacks are more correlated to being disadvantaged and in poverty (they’re a confounding variable). It appears you’re arguing poverty is more important than race re: crime, but again, it’s not working here
Why isn’t black on black crime such a big deal when it is orders of magnitude greater than white on black crime and cop on black crime?

You absolutely did attack my language, but ok.
You were asked a specific question. Answers were given. Do you have a counter argument? Are you going to actually engage with what was said? Or are you just going to make this about rhetoric?

How many of those black on black crimes end up with the police deciding to nit even take the perpetrator into custody, not pressing charges, not even putting out a warrant for the arrest of the perpetrating party?
And around half of the murders in this country are committed by 6% of the population (black males).... If you don't think that that statistic is a problem and that thaf statistic may have something to do with black people being more likely to have police interactions then you're simply ignoring reality.

I’m not an economist so I don’t claim to have all the answers, but the first step would be acknowledging that it exists. Then we could take a look at what the Kerner Report recommended in 1968 and go from there. http://www.eisenhowerfoundation.org/docs/kerner.pdf

Or better yet, BLM should be focusing on fighting heart disease, cancer, hypertension and diabetes. Right?
No one is ignoring the other issues Black people face.
And it is extremely racist to say violence is a part of Black culture when (generously)
.4% (edit) of a demographic is arrested for violent crime.
Mass shootings are almost exclusively committed by white men. Serial killers are almost exclusively white men. Should I then make conclusions about all white men? Is it cultural?

You can be Black and still hold racist beliefs.
Congratulations on being one of the few Black people who are not brainwashed. It must be a heavy burden to bear.
Issues with policing in the Black community are not new. They weren't suddenly invented by the media because it's an election year.
What does this have to do with politics?
Everything. Where have you been 🙄
