It’s not just Deloitte, some other large corps have the same “policy”. According to HR, Asians are not diversity candidates during hiring, Asian females are grouped in with white females...

In its recently published diversity report, Deloitte grouped South, East, and Southeast Asians together, and intentionally stated that they did so. However, they broke out Pacific Islanders separately.

This may be what OP is referring to.

When do I talk about salary? I have seen a $50,000 spread for similarly titled roles and almost all of the jobs don’t post salary in the job descriptions. I don’t want to waste my time or theirs, and don’t want to come across horrible, so is it reasonable when trying to schedule an interview to ask for the salary range in advance? To make sure we’re in the same ballpark before we even have the phone call? Or is this inappropriate and I just have to have that initial phone interview to find out?
