In general, it sounds like you have a lot of really applicable skills from the customer/marketing oriented side of product roles. Where you perhaps lack is in experience working with engineering/dev teams, which different companies place varying levels of emphasis on. Is that an accurate/fair statement? Want to get your take first, then I might have suggestions on where to focus energy to learn more.

PM1: Exactly. I have minimal experience sitting side-by-side with digital dev (apps, SaaS, front-end/back-end) acting on behalf of a client. Not necessarily driving product development/innovation. Not sure if that’s relevant, but thought I’d mention.

Noob question here but realized I sent out an email with a brief typo to a client meeting chain. I said “Out” instead of our”. Is this like a big deal? Normally, I wouldn’t ask this but my brief experience in consulting makes me feel like every thing I do will be under a microscope and my manager will talk to me about this

I’m a new manager and am trying to get off a client. Need guidance if I should do it. I work with a very nice senior manager who is up for partner. She gave me a very decent review. The client is horrible though. Piecemeal review comments, constant updates workpapers and last minute changes. The only good thing is working with this senior manager. She is also my counselor. I asked her to get off of this account, and she said the firm probably won’t allow it. I have another senior manager I work

The long and the short of it. I was laid off a couple of months ago, the clients on the account I ran loved me. Can I hit the client up about freelance? I was told I'd be allowed to transfer to a new project, after 6 months. So, I decided to stay with the firm and declined 2 external offers. I have just found that I'm being forced to stay on a project that I hate. Should I bring this up to my coach and mention the offers? I'm wanting to drive home the point that I will be leaving if this continues.

Hi, all the tax professionals here. I have a question. My client started a business to develop a new formula in year 2013. The business failed and my client decided to abandon the business in year 2019. During year 2013 and 2018, no loss or expenses were claimed on the return. Can he claim all the loss/ expenses on year 2019 return. If yes, what the tax code or regulation can apply to this case? I appreciate your insights.

I am due to take 2 weeks parental leave sometime in the next month and have an offer lined up. Is it better to tell the new place I would prefer to push my start date to take my leave and join two weeks after (accounting for 2 weeks of notice when I get back)? Would that be burning a bridge with current firm (taking leave and giving notice as soon as I am back)? I want to avoid losing 2 weeks of salary during that time if I can.
