Im an actuary looking to change careers to portfolio management/investment. A recruiter from Northwestern Mutual reached out recently regarding an investment associate position with their public investments department.

1) What is the general opinion on the investment arm of Northwestern Mutual? Is this a good opportunity or should I be looking elsewhere?

2) Does anyone know what the salary range for this position would be? I looked on Glassdoor and it ranges from 70-140k which is broad.

Question: I am on an AE Hiring process. the HR said the salary range is 60k to 70k plus commissions and bonus. I told them, I am looking for 80k, considering my current salary and experience. So far I already had 3 interviews, things are doing well, only one more. Do you think usually companies can go high than the salary range, even though they told me the salary was less than I am expecting?

I’m currently a maxed out GS-15 Step 10. Masters degree is Electrical/Computer Engineering, but now a Program Manager for a high visibility area. I have 10 years to reach full retirement age (57). Why do I feel like I’m limiting myself? What would the pros and cons be of seeking private industry employment at this point? What would an equivalent salary be taking into account pension, etc? Anyone else been in, or is in this situation?

Hi! I need some help negotiating a raise. I have been working for this company for exactly 3 months now, but I was hired as an AGM. I'm not specific on what my responsibilities are as AGM.
