Hello Everyone! Does anyone have a connection at Netflix ! I am an author/marketing associate and truly my dream job is to work on the team that creates/produces Drive to Survive. I am a huge F1 fan! However, I am willing to start where I can and work my way there! I was laid off due to Covid and just trying to get back into the field and industry I love.

1. You got hired because you were probably doing many of the AS responsibilities at your old job already, just without the title. You got this.
2. When you leave your comfort zone and move into growth and risk zones, it’s inherently uncomfortable. The critic in your head may appear to get louder, but there’s no truth to back it up. Before you start your new job, revisit old emails or performance reports or convos where you were praised, and write down some of those great things. Use that as an antidote when you get a little stuck.
3. No one will expect you to hit the ground running day one. Listen, learn, and be vocal with your new manager about setting expectations. Be vulnerable and ask questions. But also trust your instincts.
Good luck!!
All of this is so great and really helpful, really appreciate you taking the time to share

Tell us what you’re struggling with and where you worry you’re not measuring up? Are there any external indicators that your worries are grounded in reality vs anxiety?
I think it’s mostly anxiety that people won’t like me plus a worry that I don’t have enough managing experience. I have couched ACs before but not consistently, more like on a project by project basis.
In the same boat! You’re not alone. We got this!!
