Looking at making a move from a top 20 city to PNW farm style living. Work from home permanently and live peacefully. I'd be close enough to SEA that I'd be able to make it work if I had to (ie if remote ops reversed course) Anyone thinking similar or already done so? Also, has anyone sold their house to an institutional buyer? Obviously, you may get less cash, but it will also take longer to sell, so you are paying holding costs, etc and taking on more market risk.

Has anyone joined a team that is all full time remote, with people in different countries and time zones? How has the onboarding process been? Have you been able to form a connection with your team? Considering some opportunities but very skeptical of how this would all go down and if it would be super lonely and depressing. There may not be a chance to actually meet people and have that bond with your co-workers that makes work bearable

I'm limited to 500 words in these posts, but for anyone interested I can give you free demo of Live stream and answer any questions. -Brett Junod

Anyone else getting hit with crazy requests lately that are beyond absurdity with scheduling or budget (even both)? Does anyone else feel like this pandemic has helped level out the playing field between working moms and everyone else? Although the beginning of the pandemic was a nightmare with no access to childcare, continuing to be able to work from home has provided me with the opportunity to advance my career, where I could not before because of the time constraints of my commute and getting home to relieve my childcare. Am I alone in feeling this way?

Serious question: how difficult is it to get straight up fired from big 4? Outside the layoffs last year, I have personally never seen anyone let go for any reason. There's always some PIP or transferring projects or some long review process that never goes anywhere. Anyone have any insight or stories? Just looking for some perspective.

I'm very much an investing novice and looking for thoughts on how to maximize gains. I've had a small portfolio with schwab for a few years (intelligent portfolio on medium risk tolerance) that has been steady, but should I also be picking stocks on the side outside of their ETFs? And if so, where do you start for selection? 32 y/o with maxed out 401k if that makes a difference (though I do contribute very little for my HSA - should that be more of a thing?)

Can someone explain how so many people have competing offers for negotiation? I keep hearing “don’t expect to have a strong case for negotiation unless you have a competing offer”. Wouldn’t that have to line up perfectly with you interviewing for multiple roles at the same time?? An offer has a quick expiration period... or do you negotiate with an expired offer you rejected within the past few weeks.
