My criteria for jobs is: (1) Pay (2) Interesting Work (3) Good team/leadership. An ideal job would have all three. A job that I would tolerate but won't be too happy about would have 2/3. Once that dips down to 1/3, it's time for a new job. Based on your post, you're at 1/3
Also these promos don't happen every year, so these raises aren't expected YoY. To give you a personal anecdote: 1st year: analyst making 75K. 2nd year: senior analyst making 82k (9% raise). 3rd year: senior analyst making 85k (3.6% raise). 4th year: consultant making 95K (11.7% raise). 5th year consultant: 100K (5% raise). So as you can see, for promo years 10% raise is believable. But not for non promo years.
Then take the new offer?
^lol what?!?!!!!!! Your friends are all fucking liars.
MC C&M 1st year consultants don't make 110k. 95k, yes, because I make that and so do ten of my closest coworkers (+/-5k)
@KPMG those are a raises with promotions. Big difference.
@KPMG1 - Were you not here for the year end ACN bitch fest a few months ago? Whatever the raises might have been even for non-promotions, it's definitely not there any more. I'm an experienced hire, C3 and your fiends are bullshitting you.
Lol K1, both OP and I are telling you first hand that your friends' anecdotes are inaccurate.
And about our exp hire friend, you always make more your first year as an exp hire to lure you in but then your raises compared to coworkers at the same level will be lower to bring you back down to market value.
Your*
Your numbers are a bit inflated.
72-75k - analyst
80-85k - senior analyst
90-100k - consultant
Read your original comment: "10% raises EVERY YEAR".
Unless you were way under paid at ACN this year, you didn't get shit for a raise and as amazing as our stock has done, our bonuses sucked. We have to make money on ESPP or RSA's.
Probably time to move on. I used to be in non-consulting HR and it is always a hit to the person's ego when the company won't match the offer. Don't let it derail you OP. Everyone else, if you are jumping be prepared that you many need to actually jump. Firms change their needs and forecasts every day.
Also OP- that is kind of a company thing, acting like it is such a blessing to work here. It happens in industry too. Unfortunately at the end of the day, most firms see all of us as commodities.
OP seems like he or she is at 0/3
Nah I'd stay ACN pays the most
If you jump ship sure you'll get your bump right away. But your raises will suck and you will equalize
No. They started at like 72k out of undergrad...made senior analyst in less than 2 years at 85-89k ...then made consultant shortly after that at 95-110k... What are YOU talking about? (This is MC, client market)
Someone I know had 2 years at another firm and got Accenture C level at 110. Experienced hires will make more everywhere
