As someone with a background in the military, is it worth it to try to go back to the government as a tax analyst or senior tax analyst for the Dept of the Treasury? I'm wondering if I'll have an edge in getting hired as I've been at the GS-13 level before I left the military and I'm hoping I can use that time in service to add to a pension time requirement in the government.

Having to stop flying AA for a Canadian client. It might become a long term engagement. Options are United, Delta, and Air Canada. Any recommendations for maximum benefits /comfort? Also,
Please clarify for me. I say if the salary for the position is $52,000, that's what you include when posting the job opening. Ie: Marketing Assistant: $52K. My supervisor says no, the salary is actually 74,000, because she's including health benefits and PTO on top of the 52.. I said if you post 74,000 and the person finds out it's actually 52 (probably with a take home pay of only 38) they will walk. Who's right?
On my 3rd job in 2 years (consultant for a year, then left for a new company that was impacted by COVID). My new role is not very interesting and can be very pigeon holed at times. The pay and benefits are top notch, which are keeping me here. Is it too soon to jump again for something I’m more interested in or is it better to wait?
Trying to decide between an offer at Deloitte and a counter-offer at Booz. Deloitte has the name recognition and better benefits but I have a really supportive team at Booz and good work-life balance. Any insight is appreciated! I would be starting at Deloitte as a Consultant in GPS. Currently a Senior Consultant at Booz.
So i was seeing the post around Deloitte USI work life balance, culture, hikes and bonuses were comparing to others. Let me tell you, this is the same company which gave me 1 lakh joining bonus, 20k award,10k special compensation, 5k spot award,15k furniture expense, 25k smartphone, 1.5k internet, awesome laptop to work, 15 days covid leaves. And today 22% hike 160% bonus. I mean i just joined 6 months back. What else you want from any company? I have great WLB since joined. #greatCompany #Love❤
My wife will be quitting her job soon to be a SAHM to our infant. I’m currently on a high-deductible plan at EY (along with my our infant) but my wife is separately insured through her current employer. I’ll be adding her to my insurance (already maxing HSA) ... is there anything else I should be working on? Planning to roll her 401k into an IRA ASAP.
Almost 3 years at pwc and thinking to use 401k and wealth builder to buy my first home...can i use 100% of what I have matured? Will that be taxed? Thanks
PPEDs: Just found out that a Partner, who was promoted in 2017, was fired. IDK the circumstances. What can they expect to walk away with besides 401k & normal pension plan?
My wife got a new job, but she’s covered under my plan. shes thinking of joining the new employers health insurance plan 1. If she joins the new plan, do I have to take her out of my Deloitte plan from a legal perspective? If so, in how many days?
2. If I leave and join her plan, is that even possible in middle of year? What will happen to my FSA balance if I do that
Hi strangers, tell me what to do with my money 🤠
I’m 22 years old still living with my parents with minimal expenses. I make $65k, maxed out my 401k, have no debt, $30k in an HYSA, and $13k in a brokerage account. When I move out in 6 months or so, I estimate I’ll need $12k in an emergency fund. Should I put everything except that in my brokerage account? I hate that I have so much in the so called “high yield” account only making 0.45%
I see meal card option in my flexi benefits page..can someone from LTI guide whats this meal card for of 50 bucks and where can it be used?
Does anyone have an HSA that you started on your own (not through your employer)? I have one at Further that I started a few years ago as a place to hold cash contributions that I thought I would use for medical expenses. Now I’m looking into providers that might be better choices for investing, but not sure if I can roll over the contributions I’ve made if I may want to use them for past medical expenses I haven’t taken reimbursement for yet. Thoughts on best HSA accounts?
Deloitte folks, are you mapped specifically to healthcare or just to a “strategy and ops” type group?
Last minute year end checklist:
Max quality of life benefits
Max Roth IRA
Anything else should I be doing?
I had an offer from an MNC A (french banking services based company) a month back. i have uploaded the documents and they have initiated the background verification.
But now I have another offer from a company B (product based german MNC) whichi is much better in ctc and employee benefits. I have accepted it.

I've been working with Healthcare data recently and it's so weird. Everything is unnecessarily complicated and people who work in Healthcare don't take a step back and explain things. Anyone experienced this too +

Bank clients- I know the chairman of a local but growing bank in my town. I want to reach out to market my firm and services, but I’m curious how I could be more specific in my discussions. I don’t want to say “I’m a transactional attorney” but I’d like to say “I could help with loan documents, UCC filings, etc.”. It’s the “etc.” I want to elaborate on. Anyone have any ideas what banks really need legal help with? Thanks!

According to LinkedIn, there’s a hiring frenzy going on but all I see are junior roles for under 35k to work on social. Is this the “frenzy” they’re talking about?
Women in this bowl, do you have a dermatologist you’d recommend? Would love to explore some skin care and anti ageing treatments but don’t have a trusted dermatologist to start with. Thanks!
Naive question: How many yearly billable hours are reasonable for a good balance of work and home. I have a young child and don't want to miss out on important moments. I had one firm state that their yearly quota is 1900 hours and I don't have a frame of reference as to whether this is reasonable or if it means 12 hour days. I am coming from public service so billables are 100% new to me. Any insight is appreciated.

Portable monitor recommendations? Details: Looking for a recs for a bigger monitor that can either detach from the monitor stand or fold away easily so it’s not always standing straight up. It would be a second monitor that I keep in a non-office room in my house so I’d like to be able to hide it easily. But I also don’t want a tiny monitor. Any help appreciated 😊

Does a business need require you to be there Sunday or first thing Monday or is it a personal choice for convenience? Just messing, bill that shit!
Yeah A1 you trippin
That's very strange A1. I'm an analyst and mine let's me
A1, that isn't right. It won't let you charge per diem unless you set your location for that day. You don't have to bill hours, but you do have to put the right location.
Dinner? Expense your lunch as well !! 💸
Only if you charge hours on Sunday. MyT&E will confirm that.
Wasn't the case for me ^ usually just your PM needs to sign off on your time sheet and most do if they know you flew in that night
I know a bunch of people who flew Sunday and expensed dinner on my last project. I thought is was the norm.
You can do it. I do it all the time. You should do lunch too.
Guess it depends on project, I never did. Also, my wife works at Deloitte and she gets to! It's bullshit that Accenture doesn't
MyT&E will not allow you to charge a per diem on a day when you did not charge hours in the same location as the per diem. You will get an error when you submit.
