As someone with a background in the military, is it worth it to try to go back to the government as a tax analyst or senior tax analyst for the Dept of the Treasury? I'm wondering if I'll have an edge in getting hired as I've been at the GS-13 level before I left the military and I'm hoping I can use that time in service to add to a pension time requirement in the government.

Please clarify for me. I say if the salary for the position is $52,000, that's what you include when posting the job opening. Ie: Marketing Assistant: $52K. My supervisor says no, the salary is actually 74,000, because she's including health benefits and PTO on top of the 52.. I said if you post 74,000 and the person finds out it's actually 52 (probably with a take home pay of only 38) they will walk. Who's right?

Let me tell you, this is the same company which gave me 1 lakh joining bonus, 20k award,10k special compensation, 5k spot award,15k furniture expense, 25k smartphone, 1.5k internet, awesome laptop to work, 15 days covid leaves. I’m 22 years old still living with my parents with minimal expenses. I make $65k, maxed out my 401k, have no debt, $30k in an HYSA, and $13k in a brokerage account. When I move out in 6 months or so, I estimate I’ll need $12k in an emergency fund. Should I put everything except that in my brokerage account? I hate that I have so much in the so called “high yield” account only making 0.45%

I have one at Further that I started a few years ago as a place to hold cash contributions that I thought I would use for medical expenses. Naive question: How many yearly billable hours are reasonable for a good balance of work and home. I have a young child and don't want to miss out on important moments. I had one firm state that their yearly quota is 1900 hours and I don't have a frame of reference as to whether this is reasonable or if it means 12 hour days.
