Worth moving to NYC? Or better living in NJ?
I recommend seeing a therapist (ideally one who can prescribe medication) who specializes in patients with ADHD and asking them what they think about the pros/cons of various drugs. My sister is ADHD and has gone on and off drugs at various times, for her it’s a combination of medicating during phases when it feels needed, making lifestyle adjustments based on what she has seen to help improve her focus, and regular therapy to help develop strategies that work. Doubt any one person is exactly the same, so partnering with a professional who specializes in ADHD would probably be helpful long term, whichever route you take.
Second Deloitte’s comment. As someone who has dealt with ADHD during my life, I would agree that it’s not a simply solution but seeking help and possibly dealing with going on and off medication as it is needed. Feel free to reach out directly if you would like.

The side effects can be unpleasant but for me they are outweighed by the benefit. I did not take any medication in school so my situation is similar to yours. A psychiatrist will be able to help you figure out which medication to try and what dose
This happened to me also and I noticed it more in the “real world” outside of school. It’s because in school you had so much structure and now you don’t have that. Agree with the other recommendations to see a therapist and determine your best course of treatment
