Admit it- when you see in the notifications that ‘Somebody from Wieden + Kennedy liked your post’ it gives you a little more of a tingle than the others.

It’s me, a person with no hiring ability who likes everyone’s post to spike their seratonin.

I feel this not only with them but when copywriters like my replies. It is sad, but it is something.

No. I’ve been rejected by W+K enough times where I know I’m never getting hired there.

What if you just feel really sorry for everyone who still works in an agency?

@cd4, WK has its problems, but it’s like any other agency. There’s good work and there’s not so good work the comes from network. But I’d definitely say there’s more risk takers there within the walls. The clients are the difference. They’re willing to take risks compared to clients that want just want “results”. Clients generally know what they are getting into when they work with Wieden. That’s why it’s a client revolving door. It gets too hot in the kitchen. Freaks the client out.

Poll: IPad Pro 11” vs IPad Pro12.9” Why: Because I have Best Buy points I need to use in 2 days. How many: $500 equivalent. Use: Just traveling, reading, etc. have a MacBook Pro, so definitely nota supplement to a laptop. Commenters: “you can buy something other than iPad”. Yes, I can but I have most electronic gadgets I need and I rent, so no big appliances. But open to suggestions if there’s something very out of the ordinary from Best Buy. Thank you in advance :)

Interviewing for Strategy&, specifically for the Cloud and Digital Transformation group under tech Strategy as a senior associate. I Would like to know what would make a candidate standout here. I already did 3 interviews and now have the final round Partner interviews this week. I have a lot of strategy experience with tech components but I am not a tech expert, but I am extremely interested in increasing my knowledge and joining. Any tips?

When you are switching firms, what do you care about? What kind of questions do you have? Do you ask about where the company is going and what strategies they are taking? How do you ask about culture? Do you ask about happy hours or team composition? What matters to you other than compensation and WLB? I’m trying to be a more curious person, and not just focused on the money

Do any of the top consulting firms have analytics roles (preferably not super technical) that don’t require weekly travel?

If I like public accounting but just don’t like the B4 environment and hours, does it make sense to move to a smaller regional firm? Would be looking to switch from audit to a more niche service line. Part of me is scared about losing better exit opportunities after downsizing, but I’m kind of tired of being worn out by work all of the time. Anyone do this? I see mostly B4 to B4 jumps at the senior level these days, so don’t know if there’s something I’m missing.

I joined Deloitte in 19’ and don’t buy into the circlejerk that seems to go on both for / against the company - I like being a part of the firm but am underwhelmed with where the recent compensation cycle resulted. I have an opportunity with a small business to get a roughly $45k salary increase, but would have 2 sacrifice the security of Deloitte, wfh and paternity leave, which will come into play this fall as we have a baby due in November. Anyone make a similar switch before or havethoughts?

Other than contributing to your 401k and IRA, what other long-term investment options would you guys recommend? Any specific ETFs or index funds?

My in-laws think any woman or black person in a leadership position is there because of diversity and that companies shouldn’t try to put any effort into promoting diversity in their recruitment because it harms minorities as people will always think those minorities are in a position of power only because they were hired because of gender/race quotas. They also think it’s perfectly justified in prioritizing hiring a woman over a man (all else being equal) because of potential for ‘me too’. 😣
