Advice for a mid-level copywriter who wants to move into a purely advertising role?

I have a few integrated campaigns in my portfolio but the best projects I’ve done have been TOV and quite a lot of CRM. Thinking about putting some spec/just for fun projects in there to show my conceptual, advertising chops? Any thoughts on how I can approach my portfolio with this in mind gratefully received 🙏🏻

For those who moved from a client serving role to an internal role in public accounting while at a fairly high level (experienced manager or senior manager), did you take a pay cut or does your pay stay flat when you transition with minimal increases in subsequent years? Junior here. How common is it to be nudged off a brief when you can't get ideas through internally? My partner and I are often put on the same briefs as more experienced (sometimes senior) teams. As a result, their work tends to make it through to the client presentation while most of ours dies somewhere along the way from CD to CCO. Is this worth worrying over?
