Ask A Recruiter - Advertising

Advice for a soon-to-be college grad looking for jr roles/internships during this time? Haven't been in touch with the recruiter in 3(ish) weeks, feeling extra anxious about being ghosted.

I know this is not what you’re hoping to hear, but the only thing you can do is be patient. For the next few weeks, most agencies will only be filling immediate openings that are critical to current client business. Most roles that were open for growth or investment hires will be put on hold until we see how things play out and have a better idea of how this will effect business. Were you actively interviewing for a role? Or just in touch with a recruiter for informational / nice to meet you purposes? If you actually interviewed, it’s okay to follow up to keep top of mind and ask for an update, but acknowledge that you know it’s an unprecedented time of uncertainty and you understand if the process is slowed down. If you weren’t interviewing, but had just been in touch with a recruiter, I’d wait a couple of weeks. It’s too early to know where we’ll be 2-3 months from now. Sorry, I know it’s tough. Hang in there!

In that case, I think it’s perfectly acceptable to follow up again. Hopefully the Recruiter has some compassion and respect and will get back to you. Most likely they don’t have answers yet, but that’s no excuse for ghosting.

British Airways frequent travellers - what is the best destination to use a 2-for-1 companion voucher? We’re fans of adventurous places, instead of cities and relaxing beaches.

There was a thread on here some time ago about recommendations for a color laser printer for the home office. I'm looking for one that has a scanner built in as well if possible. (More)

What % minimum salary increase would you need to change jobs right now? Assume above 120k pay and super stable current job with no upward mobility

Anyone else appalled at how many people are planning to fly cross country or internationally for vacation in the coming weeks? Are we just pretending the pandemic doesn’t exist anymore?

Stupid question, but hoping to get some perspective as a new hire, what defines good health insurance? Everyone says our plans suck, wondering what that means?

🐠 with renters insurance, how much liability do you get? 100k, 300k? I’m required to have 100 and not sure if it’s worth more. Going with full replacement for belongings. Anything else to consider
