Advice for leaving an emotionally/mentally abusive job before you find a new job? No luck on the job search, but I'm at the end of my rope. I need out. Am I crazy to quit before I find something else?

No, I don't think you're crazy. Obviously you have assessed your financial situation before pondering this idea. Abuse is abuse is abuse. It's also an opportunity cost and it will only get worse, or you will become complacent. Your quality of life and emotional well being is up to you. Your employer is not doing you any favors. You deserve to seek better for yourself. Granted the job market is weird right now, a lot of places are still hiring.

Thanks for that! Normally, I would never leave a job without having something else lined up for the very reasons you mentioned. But I've been working for the same guy (I'm the only associate) for three and a half years, and I'm getting to the point where the impact this job is having on me is outweighing other considerations. Thanks for making me feel less crazy!

I do digital marketing for a PI firm. I want to chat about Yelp. Obviously it’s a platform built for consumers, not for businesses. Naturally, former clients go there to bash or rave about their experience. While I know Yelp’s algorithm, I was wondering if anyone has any advice on pushing the negative reviews down so they’re not the first few that populate? The review replies are specific, detailed, & to the point as to why they’d write it, the outcome of their case, etc. I appreciate any help!
