I’m still trying to find NYC friends lol
Be aggressive with finding plans through colleagues without being creepy. Join some social clubs or leagues (dodgeball, running, etc).
Just go to a happy hour at a local bar and become friends with the bar tender and strike conversation
Let’s all meet up! Always down to meet good people
Meetup.com
I found NYC easy to make friends. I made friends at work first, then met some of their friends, and that kind of snowballed! I also joined sports team and found my people there.
If big 4 just don’t worry about it
Not going to have much time for friends at big 4 anyway
Spiritual aspects aside, religious organizations are underrated social networks, as are civic clubs. I think a big reason the social fabric of America is fraying so badly and has become so politically tribal is that people don’t go to the Rotary club, church/synagogue/etc anymore. Not trying to preach from a soap box, just making an observation
And though I don’t know much about them, there are also young professionals organizations or things like the Young Investors Society (YIS). Surely NYC is full of stuff like that. Pick something you’re interested in and find a group that specializes in that thing. Basketball. Basket weaving. Basket critiquing. Whatever...
All the above suggestions are good. Online meetup groups, coworkers, your future gf/bf friends, or if you are really outgoing just go do one of your hobbies and talk to random people also doing that hobby. Beer pong for example lol
Agree with all of the above suggestions. I’ve had luck meeting some great people through Meetup.com and dating/networking/friendship apps. Bumble is pretty decent for that. Also, I’m in the city & am always down for meeting new people. Happy hour anyone? :)
Yeah I’ll join too
