Advice for the final round partner interview at Big4? It’s only 30 mins so I imagine mostly fit and culture questioning but really want this. Felt I did ok on technical and struggled a bit with case study but got positive feedback

I had an interview last Tuesday for a senior fraud analyst III and on Thursday my manager told me he got an email from the hiring manager to see if I could start my new role August 1st. Is it me or does it seem like companies are hiring but not really hiring? For example, you wasted all of that time going through the interview process, completed it, and then they’re putting the position on hold or you had a great interview, they tell you had a great interview, the interviews like you, you had a great answers but they didn’t select you due to “business needs/growth/direction of the company.”
