Check out Human Workplace. Its a great job search/professional development resource and Its founder, Liz Ryan, is very active on LinkedIn. She has a what I think is a unique, non-traditional way of thinking about resumes and cover letters. I used her resume writing technique to help get my current job!

Keep them to cover emails and short intros that talk about you and what you can bring to the table that someone might not get from your resume.

Cover emails 👍 Don’t make it a summary of your resume. Tell me something different. Fill in any unknowns. It’s optional if your resume speaks for itself. Don’t feel compelled. In this day and age, no cover letter is better than a mediocre one.

Im in the final round of interviews at VMware and news came on Monday that they are being acquired by Broadcom. Is this something that I should be concerned about? Hi everyone, I have 5 yoe in start up operations no MBA and interviewing for a tech business analyst role at Accenture. I was asked my salary expectation and didn’t have a thought out answer tbh and blurted out base of 90 at least Does anyone know if I was in the appropriate range, or if I lowballed myself? 😬☹️ I’d like to start thinking about how to turn that 1 number into a range in my next convo 🤞🏾. Thank you!

Hi Fishes, I have been offered 40 CTC for the C3B role (8.5 exp) Could you please help me in taking the decision. Q1) how much percentage of Performance Pay generally people get on average. E.g. if it is X then will they give X or 50% of X. Q2) Is this offer as per TCS standard? Q3) Does it worth joining TCS from Big4 with just a 25% hike as I am expecting a 15% hike in the current firm in June? Thanks!

I just accepted an offer at another big4 and I feel so blessed to be making $130k in LOCL as a 23 year old with less than 1.25 YOE. And I find it funny that I'm gonna be "senior" consultant/associate at my age and YOE. I don't know jack shit, and will completely understand if my clients/senior peers don't give me any respect at all. Thank you covid and the great resignation for this wonderous and hilarious opportunity.

I feel that former employer might have slandered my reputation. Almost a year ago, I had accepted a physical therapist position with the VA and all was going well until I get a call from their HR department saying that they had to rescind the offer due to something that came up in my background. Never been arrested or have any legal complaints filed against me. VA said I’d have to file a FOIA request. Which meant all the info was blacked out when I got the info I requested. What do I do?????

Would love some advice. Currently at MBB ~1.5 yrs into roll out of undergrad. Currently have a strong offer in tech and am considering taking it. Am hesitant because ive done well in consulting and feel like I may miss out on something by leaving but don’t think I’d be able to get a much better exit for another year+ anyways. I’m highly interested in tech and know I don’t want to be a consulting partner. Any advice?

Have an offer from Google S&O L3 for 175k TC to relocate to the Bay Area or NYC. Currently in a fully remote role at Deloitte. Is it worth relocating to Bay Area or NYC to work at Google? Would be taking a slight pay cut. Anyone make a similar move and was it worth it to get out of consulting and break into the tech industry? Current TC: 175-180k in MCOL, 3 YOE in security New TC: 175k in HCOL
