Tell them the next time you’ll be filing a bar complaint.
No, threatening a frivolous bar complaint may be a violation.
Call his bluff. If you’re in a busy jurisdiction with *real* crime I doubt the DA will bother with it. Also, if you complied with the RPC and made your claim in good faith I don’t see how it’s criminal (unless there some specific statute in your jx)
Because I think threatening frivolous criminal prosecution is beyond the pale in *most* litigation (and usually not within the threatening attorney’s power) an old fashioned go f@$& yourself is appropriate. But that’s just me.
I don’t know what jurisdiction you’re in, but there’s legal ways to handle what OC is doing with threats. In Florida, we have a 57.105 motion for sanctions for filing a frivolous claim - OC could just file that instead of sending you threats. But bc he probably doesn’t have much merit, he is trying to scare/intimidate you instead (I say “he” because, well, it’s normally men who behave this way).
If there’s a valid dispute over property ownership, and you filed suit, you have a right to file a lis pendens. It’s protocol. You’re doing your job as your client’s attorney. He’s just “big mad”. Tell him to bring this same energy to court. Something a mentor once told me that always stuck is “Let the Judge tell you you’re wrong.” Fight for your client and do your best and don’t back down until a judge tells you to. (This is all assuming you’re doing your due diligence and being a proficient attorney in filing).

Another vote for ignoring him.
