If you are starting as an Audit Associate some time from now with Deloitte or any of the big 4, do they expect you to have passed/completed all 4 parts by the time you start? Received the Becker Reimbursement email from the recruiter not too long ago but have yet to start. I’ve seen plenty of people get to Senior at a big 4 firm without the CPA so I am a bit confused in that aspect. Any helpful feedback will be very much appreciated.

You are completely right but I’d keep your mouth shut and simply remind her to practice social distancing and wash her hands!
Agree with EY2. The problem is you could have coronavirus even without major symptoms and honestly the socially responsible thing (especially if you’re quarantined with high risk people) is to get tested. What you guys are suggesting is actually the irresponsible thing to do. Not the SM’s fault the US didn’t take Covid-19 seriously and now doesn’t have enough testing kits.
EY2: the 14-day quarantine should be before you even show symptoms. The reason why it’s important to get tested is because some people who might not show symptoms or show mild symptoms could be carriers without knowing but are spreading it to other people. I don’t see that people are quarantining even now lol. Which is why we’re still on that exponential curve of people getting infected in the US.
Read up on Iceland and Vo, Italy. While she may have only been thinking of herself, in general it helps for as many people to get tested as we can. It helps to stop the spread of the virus from those who experience no symptoms
You’re basically saying only the people who get tested and have coronavirus aren’t wasting valuable time and resources, but you can’t always figure out who has it unless you get tested. So...not sure why it’s a big deal that people want to make sure they’re not carriers.
And I don’t know this for sure because I don’t work in medical field, but if someone has flu-like symptoms I think the docs would make sure they check in frequently to make sure they don’t need any treatments. The tests aren’t for people who are already sick (who would need medication, ventilators, and to be quarantined), it’s to make sure people who are carriers know they shouldn’t be out and about like a normal person...
Perhaps an extra measure of grace should be our guidon here. This is unprecedented and people are doing the best they can.
I think two weeks would be sufficient
Mind your business
It’s pointless. She should just be behaving in a responsible manner and practicing social distancing.
Agreed that with testing limitations we shouldn’t all get tested, but if we didn’t have limitations shouldn’t we accelerate testing to pin point where it is I.e. China and s Korea
But testing citizens without having Pharma’s hand in the pot is socialism!!
I had all the symptoms went to the doctor and they didn’t even offer me the option of a test. People aren’t aware how hard it is to actually get a test. You basically have to be admitted to the hospital and dying is what I was told by my doctor.
Can’t really compare California & Maryland... but generally speaking it is very difficult to get tested.
Is it ultimately her doctor’s decision to test her? If no symptoms why would they test her?
Mind ya business
Maybe she can wait a few weeks until more tests are available.
Not your circus, not your monkey. Who cares what she does
No one is getting tested without an order from a doctor, and it's hard to get an order. If she gets tested, it's because a Dr thinks she should.
