Put in my two weeks notice to go to a 9-5 style job where I will still be paid more for less work! I am a female, and when I told one of the male partners, they were like "yeah that makes sense, it will be great for starting a family." They know I am not even married yet. I tried to brush it off and say "yeah I'll have so much time to spend with my dogs." He proceeds to tell me how helpful it was that his wife had a 9 to 5 job when the kids were young. Why can't I want a chill job for myself?!?

Debt finance attorneys: Do people in your practice group exclusively work on loans (1L/2L/ABL), or do you also include bond work (bank/bond facilities - so indentures and DONs, but not the rest of the OM) and pref work? Why do software jobs at consulting jobs pay so badly? I thought Deloitte/PwC, etc were fairly prestigious, but I’m seeing 120-ish TC for 5 years experience which is crazy low.

I’m finishing my BS in CompSci degree. It is a CompSci with a UX focus area. From there, my school has two Masters Programs: Software Development and Data Science. Data Science includes ML, AI, etc. engineering classes, so it’s essentially Data Engineering.
