Anyone else with big 4 experience looking to find a rewarding career path with an undergrad degree in accounting? What career options are out there without having to go back to school?
Anyone in cyber security consulting at big 4? What's the long term potential for the field, and what skills does it play on the most?
Which of the big 4 has the best work life balance. I know that's a foreign concept for us M&A folks, but still curious.
When you realize Rihanna's new song was probably written by a Big 4 pubic accountant who was delusional because of busy season...#workworkworkworkwork
Booth vs Kellogg? Got into both Round 1.. Big 4 mgmt consultant trying to make a leap into VC. Maybe MBB intermediate step.
Big 4 salary comparison. Collated some data points from Glassdoor to compare salaries across EY PwC Deloitte KPMG. Thought will be helpful for the fishes out there looking for job change or even progression/ promotion within team. Do like, share and comment 😀
How does one get into Big 4 Transactions/Financial Due Diligence out of undergrad? I'll be a senior next fall with a 3.8 GPA as an Accounting & Finance double major applying for full time positions. I'm in Beta Alpha Psi and have a public accounting internship under my belt. What are my chances? Should I apply for FDD roles next fall, or should I spend a couple years in audit and then transfer service lines? Thanks!
If traveling is reduced in future based on clients wanting to cut costs, would the big 4 model change in advisory and maybe consulting? For examples at Deloitte I know we have a lot of random smaller offices where it doesn’t matter as everyone travels. Would they consolidate offices and maybe have people aligned to offices and teams to work together and then travel as needed similar to GPS. I believe this is how audit works as well.
Is there a place I can go to get my tsa pre check number? I left another big 4 for Deloitte and was immediately dismissed and didn’t have time to gather that info
I am interested in doing M&A due diligence within Big 4. Anyone here done it before? Is it really any better than audit?
Posting in M&A bowl for more relevant take: Currently have 2 offers on hand, coming from a big 4 advisory. Which one would be better for longer term growth in both skill set and salary? Goal is to go to industry in corp dev or M&A integration in 3-4 years or M7 MBA, but nothing set in stone. 1. Alvarez & Marsal PEPI SA - $130K base, $10K sign on, $15K guaranteed bonus 2. When you explain to your non-accounting friends what the Big 4 is and they say, "oh sounds like the Ivy League for accounting firms" >>>>
Avoid Big 4 at all costs!
Am I understanding correctly in this thread you Big 4 management consultants really work 60 hours a week for less than 100K TC?!
Do you openly talk about your compensation with friends, family, and coworkers when it comes to seeking new jobs or going for promotions? Are you a male or female? Are you of a minority race? I’m curious, because I was talking to my parents about this topic. My parents believe it’s taboo, but I do discuss this openly and feel like it’s a way to see if I’m on par as an Asian female.
Anyone do software asset management/licensing work? Would be interested in leaving Big 4 for FAANG/industry but feel as though industry won’t pay much. Anyone care to share their experience?
Moms in Big Law: how do you manage the demands of parenting in big law? Do you have a nanny? I am at the age where it’s time to start thinking about whether to have kids, and I can’t imagine managing a household of kids with this job. My partner and I split household responsibilities equally, but even still I can’t imagine balancing my existing responsibilities on top of raising another human. It seems impossible without a nanny or help from family.

Anyone use wealthfront want to share their thoughts on it? I currently manage my own portfolio but a friend recommended that I try wealthfront. Wanted to hear some other experiences.
I feel like all of my "social" networks have become vapid garbage - how do you all make sense of these nowadays? Part of me thinks it's because I'm not making new friends right now.
Hi Fellow BGM!!! I have a situation. Someone applied to my company and claimed to have graduated from an HBCU. In doing the background check it was revealed she did attend however she didn’t graduate. She’s an amazing talent and has great references. I followed up with her and she admitted she didn’t graduate but was desperate to get the job. I feel stuck. I could hire her and see how it goes but am I now setting a precedent for allowing this foolishness? What if she’s good? Need some advice.
The sky may feel like it’s falling every dip… but did it matter much if you bought in 1999 versus 2000?
General Q as I feel it can be somewhat subjective; in the US, what cities do you guys consider HCOL v MCOL v LCOL?
Merry Xmas Everyone (and happy holidays!)! Thanks for making the watch bowl such a fun and helpful place. 2020 will be memorable for all the wrong reasons, but hopefully the timepieces we have and admire remind us that it’s the present moment, with loved ones or thinking of loved ones, that is what’s really important. 🎁 And may your stockings be stuffed with 5711’s, 15202’s, and a Daytona for every boys and girl! ☺️🎅🏼
