Advice/tips for effective sales process. I have never had a true mentor or any type of coaching in sales and everything has been self taught and trial and error. It’s been effective for the most part but I’m interviewing with a company and I’d like to talk through a very effective sales process.

1 always go into a call/meeting with the end in mind. What are you looking to accomplish?
2 book the next meeting while in the current meeting. Establish next steps and what you will accomplish on the next call.
3 send a recap email after every client meeting outlining what you learned and what comes next. State the purpose/goal of your next call in the recap.
4 define the sales/evaluation process during discovery so there are fewer surprises along the way
5 if your deal ends no in signing paperwork book a call and have them sign live. So much easier to forecast when a deal will close.

The first step is to identify the problems your prospect has. Once that's done, keep driving points on how your product solves each problem. Paint a clear picture of the value.

I think that's the case for many of us...I just tried to take charge more and navigate as best as I could. I made a lot of mistakes but I think I've gotten way better at it...I think you might be able to find some advice on Glassdoor for sales process interviews. also maybe reach out on Linkedin?

Not sure what industry your in but I’ve had a very similar experience - I personally never had any proper sales training and recently been interviewing and successful with an offer.
I found in the interview stages, showing you’re familiar with fundamental sales methodologies/frameworks can really help:
- qualifying prospects with MEDDIC framework
- asking prospects open ended questions to drill down into pain/needs
- having a strategy for targeting accounts based and making the best use of your time by defining an ICP (ideal customer profile)

Personally these were a few things that helped me to show a concrete process, I’d recommend doing some research around these areas to familiarise yourself with what they are - good luck!

I applied for two positions at a district court that say ‘open until filled’. I’m going on a cruise in a few weeks and don’t want to miss hearing from HR.

Hi there, I got an offer for an early stage cyber security saas startup in Canada and they offered me 130k base and 10-15% commissions which they estimated at 160-240k additional a year. They only have 1 sales person at the moment and I would be 2nd and they are hiring for 3 more. I’ve always been on a 50:50 model and never done the % of revenue. Average deal size is 40k. I got 12 yoe in enterprise tech sales. No stock options upfront but potentially after the first 3 months. Good deal?
