If I ask for remote after accepting offer from Accenture, will they agree? If they do, will they reduce package??
What would you do if your manager keeps lashing out at you and always apologizing later? The Director tells me to bare with him because he suffers from PTSD from active duty. I think the company doesn’t want to let him go to be carefully legally but I can’t take it anymore. I’ve saved two emails of his apologies and asked for a project transfer. Nothing
Hello fellow moms! I’m 12 weeks along and getting ready to inform my SM and project team. This will be my first time having a conversation like this. Any tips? Thanks in advance!
How would a remote first semester affect my chances of getting an MBA intern offer at MBB? I’m going to Booth in September. If I have an option to do the first semester remote, I’d consider it, as long as it’s not going to kill my chances of interning at MBB. I’d love perspective from someone who has gone through the target school MBA recruiting process.
Do I have to obtain a Google Cloud certificate to secure a job at Google Cloud within program/project management? Google
Hi partners. I’m considering an offer from a key client in my region. I’ve never been on a client engagement with them, but my practice in my region has traditionally done a fair amount of work(contd)
List or companies that hire remotely: Not 100% of their roles are remote. But some are.
I was on a call today, with some clients, with regards to some evidence I need, as part of my testing. The client lead I report to, is OOO for a few days, so she was not on the call. And I was the only one from PwC. I’m having meetings with these particular clients only in the context of my current control. One of them had been rude to me on a previous call and was quite passive aggressive on emails to me. But I ignored those instances and kept communications with him to a minimum. Contd..
In the second stage of an interview process that involves a take home project that is due when you want. Recruiter said to not spend more than 3-4 hours on it. Got it a day ago and planning to work on it and submit on Monday. Should i stick to the three hour time frame or does it look bad to put in more work?
A couple days ago was emailed by my SM who cc: another SM and our MD on the account. They were thanking me for all the hard work I’ve been doing. Our MD said it was great to see a new team member playing such an important role. I replied bla bla. They then talked about how they world set up time to talk about my future on the project. For context I’m a campus hire 3months in on a tech implementation. I don’t see myself on this project long term doent align with my end goals. Should I express
Hi bowl, I'm not okay today. I woke up feeling off, then my project told us that my workstream is ending this coming Friday. I feel like an after thought, I feel so anxious and so tired. I know I should eat today but I just want to lay down in bed and disappear. I'm sorry for this post, I just needed to write this and cry as I do it.
How are people "networking" now that we are wfh? I mean, you are barely even aware if people still work in the same company. Previously, you at least saw them every now and then at the office but now... They could have fired half the company and I wouldn't know
Ladies! I am looking for comfortable heels now that we are going back to the office and client site. How do people feel about the block heel pumps? Do you think it's cute or a little old-fashioned? Thanks☺️
Does PWC and Deloitte have dedicated application security pen-testing team? How much percentage of the time you guys travel? Do you work from home or based out of any particular location?
Hi ladies. I work in IT consulting and we don’t typically have to put notes in for billable hours, but a few weeks ago my boss asked me to start entering notes, about what exactly I was working on for client A,B,and C. I just said sure and didn’t ask why. I found out today from other colleagues that no one else was asked to enter notes in for their time. What’s a good way to ask my boss why the new change? I’d at least like to know if I did something wrong so I can improve.
Good luck to those who are going into their first busy season! Yes, it’s daunting at first - we’ve all been there (albeit, not in a remote environment amidst a pandemic.) My best advice is to take one day at a time (marathon, not a sprint). Remember audit/tax/consulting is not life or death, and you WILL make it through. Have patience with yourself and your teams. Find a mentor! Don’t forget you can always find some moral support (read: self-deprecating humor) in your fellow fish!
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-03-22/bosses-are-clueless-that-workers-are-miserable-and-looking-to-leave?srnd=premium Wonder what the numbers would be for consulting - naturally higher because the tenure is low to begin with but curious on what it would be above that due to the pandemic and WFH.
What's the best industry to work in with this remote work environment? I feel like travel made Consulting worth it, now I'm not sure to think.
How do you all think remote working is influencing gender dynamics in your teams? I wonder if/how relying on virtual comms with no in-person interactions will help or hurt things.
Not nearly enough messages. Was a senior when I had a kid...so nice of KPMG to NOT tell me the way to properly submit for parental leave back in the day.
I am looking to switch careers. I have been in my current career for nearly 20 years. I need a change. I have masters degree in instructional technology, health care administration, and English. I am working on trying to work my current skills into today's job market. That is more difficult than I anticipated. I guess I'm wondering if there really is anything out there to switch to? I feel lucky to have a job, but it is getting very depressing and difficult to get up for work.
I currently work as a personal injury lawyer at a small law firm, 5 years experience, graduated from T30 law school in 2015. Our subject area is pretty niche, and I am looking to branch out. Not big law, but a different subject area, and hopefully something with a better work life balance (have a small child with hopes for more). Open to leaving the law for a compliance/HR/other type position. Am I even marketable for something like that? Am I being unrealistic?
What should I do? My 401k went from gaining 38% year after year for the past 4 years, now I'm losing money rapidly. I lost over 11k twice this week already. I been down almost every day this week. Please offer some good advice. What should I do? Should I put everything into safer stocks or just sit tight and ride it out?
When the client pressures you into naming a date the audit can get done, and later that week you discover multiple serious issues that will require extended testing 😬
I’ve got a relatively minor medical procedure scheduled before Thanksgiving, and I just signed a new job offer. Is it cool to bring this up during start date discussions? Would ideally recuperate for a week before starting officially and getting on boarded. TIA!
Does anyone know what the range is on base and bonus for Exec Director in tech at JPMorgan? I’m coming from a peer bank and trying not to sell myself short. Any help greatly appreciated!
Me in my classroom last week...
Seriously hoping these numbers will get better https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-08-09/dimon-calls-jpmorgan-a-black-diversity-leader-numbers-disagree
Is it more cost effective for an agency to have full-time editors on staff or hire freelance as-needed? I work in Chicago, so please keep that in mind when the day rate discussion inevitably happens.
For those of you who have taken maternity leave while working at a firm - what level of involvement did you keep with work while away? I mean in terms of checking in with the firm, reading emails, etc. For context, I will be gone for about 8 weeks unpaid.
Comp communications are coming up. If I am unhappy with my raise or VC can I push back? Have you done that successfully without feeling like it gave you a bad reputation? My raises and bonuses have been good in the past and maybe I was naive but I’ve never thought to ask for more.
I see a lot of posts of overworked people here but anyone underworked too now that we are remote? Anyone working just 2/3 hours a day and still getting great feedback?
Just finished a product strategy interview. It was difficult. The interviewer's countenance did not help either ... Seemed like he was confused on what to ask me towards the end. Google seems to have a system where your resume is input and it spits out questions and that system failed me during my interview. I really want to protest the interview but I don't think it'll fly .
Hey everyone! I have been working at a small firm for 10 years. Specifically, work comp, PI, and social security. I often feel like I don't get enough money for everything I do. Anyone else feel this way? I do paralegal work, legal assistant work, legal billing, accounts receivable, etc. for three Attorney's. We do Claimant work and Defense.
Hi! Around 3 months back I gave IBM Cognitive test as the initial assignment but bombed it due to some technical issues and my candidature was rejected further. However, my profile has again been considered by IBM for a similar role and received Cognitive test link again. Since the previous test results are valid for 1year, the activity was auto completed. What is the probability of me being considered for further rounds? Please enlighten. Thanks
