After an interview this morning, I sent out what was SUPPOSED to be a thank you email. I really should have stepped away from my desk and put my full attention towards it, but instead I rushed through it and am now realizing I didn't even THANK HIM FOR HIS TIME OR THE OPPORTUNITY! Ugh.

Does it come off as entitled as I think it does?

Don’t be too hard on yourself. Does your email signature line include the word thank you? You said it was a pleasure so that’s good. I’m sure they see the eagerness.

Side note; incase this is helpful. I took a short class on unnecessary words in correspondence, and they mentioned not including “leading sentences”. Just go direct the point.
•“as mentioned during our conversation” can be removed and you can move right into it. •“I’m confident my experience” (instead of I have plenty).
•I know I can add value based on my skills (instead of I think this experience would)
*Avoid double negatives in a sentence & words that lead the reader to uncertainty, such as: think, maybe, might.
I wish you all the best. Stay confident, you got this!

This is great!! Thank you for sharing!

I think it's fine. I think the thank you is implied.

Okay. I appreciate the feedback. Thank you.

It’s def fine. I didn’t even notice

Okay, good to know. Thanks!

I think it’s the thought and the follow up! It’s fine!!!!

Okay, thanks!

Yeah, I didn’t even notice either. The tone is very much in the vein of “thankful”

Okay, good to hear it. Thank you!

This looks good! I get the “thank you” theme from all of it. 👍🏻👍🏻

As a former recruiter, I think this email is fine for a variety of reasons.
1) Most people don’t send follow up emails that are tailored to the dialogue, but you did.
2) It’s a tailored email expressing your sincere interest & what you bring to the table.
3) I wouldn’t sweat not thanking them for their time - it’s unlikely they see this as you being entitled - if anything it should show them your interest - far more than a cover letter would.

This is all great. Thank you for your insight!

Got a verbal offer for a sr consultant role at an FSI for 80K base, 8% bonus. Today, I see a job posting for the same job and company and the range is 68K-111K. The hiring manager in the interviews stated the range was 65-78K. HR just called and told me I have one day to decide. I haven't received the email/paper offer yet. This is leading me to feel off about this situation. What should I do? Its still a 15K pay bump for me.

I like the folks that I’m working with, so I want to make sure they have ample time to find staff (like everyone else, we’re short on staff).

Are there any downsides to telling my partner asap (when background check clears) that I may not be thinking of? If I tell them next week, it’ll be a 4~5 week notice.
