After being at a string of failed startups (one blew up after I left with no equity 😅) working on and paying for my degree all along the way, I have $40k in debt, $10k cash (after one year of saving post graduation), and make $120k total. I’m 40 next year and want to break the cycle, where the hell do I start? For reference, I want to travel and enjoy life but also want to have a solid savings. Probably my biggest issue is that I give zero f%*>s about money, it gives me very little value.

I’d aggressively focus on your career: apply around to see if you can get better offers, and if not, then just to have a better understanding of what skills are in high demand right now and go study those skills. I took a lot of online courses to make myself stand out.

While you do that, make sure to have savings/investing in place: max our retirement accounts and rest into brokerage.

The first thing is probably to change your mindset of not giving a F about money. It’s not logical to say you don’t care about money when you care about what money can offer, like traveling and a comfortable retirement.

like

Totally agree, but logic has a lot to do with coming up with a plan to fund your travels and different ways to enjoy life. Not saying everyone has to have a wealthy retirement, but most people wouldn’t want to be poor when they are old. If you care about what money can do, then you care about money.

Hello people,

Need some inputs!

When I file my ITR, it is auto-populating the 'income from other sources' by 40k and increasing my tax liability by 10k however form 26as shows no tax liability.

Should I edit the header to Rs. Xx which is below 10k hence tax exempted and stick to info as per 26AS?

Thanks a lot!

Estimated COL for a family of three with infant in a good school zone, considering mortgage, daycare, house help, cleaning, etc. type lifestyle? How much do you end up paying monthly?

What are peoples current mortgage interest rates in the US and when did they start?

I'm from the UK and looking to move the US sometime soon with a view to buy and currently on a 1.4% interest rate on my UK property secured about 12 months ago for the next 5 years (so a good time to do it).

But seeing much higher interest rates mentioned on here so curious to get a temperature check on people's current deals.

I’ve been an FBA seller myself on Amazon, have brand registry although I am not an active seller. I feel I have a really unique perspective to offer since I use Amazon as a customer and also used seller central.
I’m curious, do you think this would be an advantage to share or is it something to hide?

Yesterday my boss scheduled a meeting with me for something he needed help with. He was 15min late & took a phone call from his boss during…10min. This has become a habit. At one point I even stoped scheduling our 1:1’s because he misses them so often but he realized a couple months later & told me to start scheduling them again. I told him they aren’t necessary but he insisted. What do I do? It makes me feel less important/unappreciated. I rather not even schedule to meet. Advice?
