After creating a stock portfolio what have you all invested in? I’m at the point where I want to expand but not sure where to start.

How much do you have? Don’t start expanding until you have $1M+. Until then still to VOO or VTI.

Buying individual stocks is a sure way to lose money or underperform the market. Yes some people got lucky with Tesla, microsoft and apple but the people who bought into Tesla after the run up are now down 40%. Only a small percentage of active portfolios beat the S&P500 index. I know it’s boring but with about 90% certainty you will get to $1M faster investing in VOO or VTI than any other equity portfolio.

The newly promoted C on your team walks in with a used datejust and doesn’t flaunt it or boast but you notice it. What do you think? Too flashy and expensive for someone that level?

I am torn between staying at my job in hopes I get promoted in 2-3 years and get the pay I want or leaving. I was told by a friend of mine that larger/private banks are offering double what I currently make. The position is private banking associate, which is just one level up. This is also a completely different field, and I’m not sure if it’s something I’d be interested in. Although, I can’t help but think I might be missing a good opportunity in terms of pay & upward mobility. Any advice?

Fourth round for an in-house role. I’m now just meeting with the CMO. Any questions I should ask?

Do people really love their jobs or is that somewhat of an unattainable myth?

Creatives - if you’re new to a brand/project, what info do you want to see in a briefing? I’d love a list please.

A recruiter shared a salary band of 110-120 during an initial phone screen and I said it’s within expectation but didn’t commit to a number. However, if I get an offer, is it possible to negotiate after hearing the responsibilities of the position? I’d ideally like 125-135, but haven’t negotiated before. Appreciate any tips!

Accepted a job yesterday and received an entirely unexpected offer that I would much rather take, as it is in the area of law I want to practice and has the mentorship I’m lacking at my current job. Accepted job has the mentorship but in a different area of law that I’m not positive I’m interested in. I feel awful but at the same time, don’t want to waste even more of their time if it’s not a job I like. How bad is going back on an accepted offer?

What advice would you give an acquaintance who wants break into digital advertising at 39? Saw the book, its mainly personal design projects, but has an eye for design. No experience in digital.

In the market for my next watch. Working with AD to get my hands on one of these two options:

1. Datejust 41 - black dial - two tone jubilee
2. Skydweller - black dial - two tone jubilee

Both watches are two toned with yellow gold.

First preference is the datejust because of smaller size and cheaper price but I really love the look and complications on Skydweller. Will the Skydweller be too big and heavy for daily wear?

Thanks in advance!

As a agency UX designer, I found it’s hard to land a job at a product company. I’ve been searching for in-house design jobs for a month.

Landed some interviews at big companies like Amazon and Dropbox, but many of interviewers had concerns about my experience, as I mostly designed marketing sites or app that has limited data to validate the design.

It seems that the only way to go right now is to try to get in ANY product company to sharpen my product design skills.

Any advice?

London renting is somehow even more of a joke lately?!

It's been two weeks since we put in the offer and we still don't have a tenancy agreement.

- Liked the property, asked to fill in a form on a portal with a ton of personal info to submit offer
- Waited several days for confirmation of offer being likable
- Paid holding deposit
- Had to fill out your entire life history to a third party for referencing
- Had to also provide that same info to the agency (cont.)

I hate when I go to a new place and I forget to turn off Google Maps and right when I'm inside the building it says "GPS has lost connection" 😡

1. Does NatWest (RBS) have offices/location in Canada for IT?
2. Can a vendor employee of NatWest (client) join NatWest directly?

Should I be charging to do photoshoots for the agency?
