If I'm looking to get pre approved for a house and just got a raise how long do i need to wait after getting the raise to have the new number be considered my annual income? Do i need to wait to have a full year at my new salary?
After 1.5 years at the company I realised I am well underpaid. I am well aware that it would be a long shot to ask for a big raise (20k), but at the same time I don’t want to change company for that reason. A career coach told me that with my qualification I could easily earn 40k more per year than what I do. It’s really frustrating knowing that some colleagues without previous work experience would earn more on day 1 than what I earn now. I was a tech consultant for 1.5 years before this. Tips?
I got an offer in public accounting (advisory) making 31% more plus a bonus but I like the WLB my current job offers. However, i haven’t gotten a raise in 2 years (due to going to 2 new positions & being told I can’t negotiate more, basically take it or leave it). How do I ask for a raise at my current role (which is a large NFP) by leveraging my current offer? Should I? Family/ friends are saying I should. I have my CPA and started here 6 months ago.
Any experienced senior managers that have moved between Big 4 firms? Can you speak towards your experience, any struggles, and opportunities in terms of partner promotion? Frankly, EY path to partner seems to be too clouded (long pipeline, no clear direction/path, uncertainty on promotion cycles, etc.) at the moment and I would like to visit all options. Appreciate the input.
Hello fishes. I'm a MBA graduate currently working as a digital marketing professional in a mid size consulting firm with 3 years of experience. I am terribly underpaid in my current org at 5.5 LPA after a recent promotion and annual appraisal. Another mid size consulting firm offered me 7.5 LPA but I am asking them around 9 LPA. Am I asking too much or shall I take the offer of 7.5 LPA
Your colleague keeps busting your chops because he/she has a terrible sense of humor and doesn’t understand the inside joke. I got frustrated and tried to correct, but oh no no… I should’ve raise my voice even a little or I’m crossing the line.
I have been offered a lateral move within my company to a role I (believe) I will be more interested in that will suit my skills more. However, I’ve now been offered a promotion in my existing Role, and have heard that this is a pretty big deal and almost fast track to Director. Am I mad to pass up a promotion for a lateral move that is unlikely to promote me for some time?? I’ve been in my existing role almost 2yr. Will it affect my future growth? I’m 30 so would love to be a director soon
I’m with a firm for 6 months. Got a good package but with such inflation it’s hitting my wallet. Can I ask for a raise?
Starting soon at McK as an undergraduate hire, is it normal/inoffensive to state to my DLG that I’d be interested in pursuing relatively expeditious promotion timelines and am willing to do the work to achieve that goal? Or will it come off as arrogant/foolhardy (happy to hear from all MBB because I am guessing it might be similar)?McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group
Wondering if I could reasonably negotiate a raise? My last raise was in 4/20, roughly a year and a half after I was hired. In 8/21 I completed my master’s degree. The company I work for is small, so we don’t have any sort of standard raise schedule. Thing is, I recently convinced my company to hire another person to take some tasks off my plate. I was doing the work of 2–3 people. I was drowning and as a result my performance suffered.. so I don’t have m/any banked wins. Any advice?
Anyone here with the Deal Strategy practice I can dm to chat? Currently an SC with 4.5 strat and Ops experience at Big 4. I am in PDM Specialist/ senior consultant 1 &2. This is my promotion year. How do i conform the next title is PDM specialist 2 or the PDM manager?
I’ve been with my company for 5 years and have never asked for a raise, I’ve accepted annual review we get without question. I’ve now realised I’m getting paid significantly less than the market rate. I’m getting job offers with almost 40% increase. I know my male peers at my company get paid significantly more than me. I love my job and my company but I don’t know how to ask for a raise 🙈 I know I deserve it but don’t know how to ask! Any guidance please ?
Is there a way to bypass the promotion policy of not being able to apply for jobs in 2 or more levels above your current level? Especially, if one joined the company at lowest level with over 8 years experience? Reason was, I took a career break for 6 years and to maximise my chance of getting back into the industry, I applied for a role I was almost guaranteed to get. I had hoped it would be easy to rise in ACN but was met with "you can't be promoted 2 levels above", cont'd in comments
I accepted an offer A a month back. Now I got a better offer B. But I like company and work of A Should I ask A to raise the offer?

Been a customer success manager at a tech org for about a year and was just given a promotion that’s $21k lower than what we’re hiring new folks (albeit with 2 years of experience) for. Looking for resources for the market value of a CSM with one year of experience and any tips to negotiate? Definitely feeling defeated.

Any other product managers here have any underlying health conditions? How has the diagnosis affected your work or career goals? Would you need to take things like flexible working or part time working etc into consideration when your body just breaks down? How do you cope with the busy schedules of being a PM? I’ve been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease few years ago and I get sick a lot easier and my body finds it difficult to recover. Recently I caught Covid and it just wiped me out for 1M

Our CSM department is going through a major restructure right now. There has been a huge amount of turn over since the beginning of the year. Our managers have not given us any insight to what the new restructure will look like, they have also pushed out our annual raise conversations until the end of April. A lot of CSMs are leaving the company and it has me thinking maybe I should entertain other opportunities elsewhere as well. Has anyone else had an experience like this?
Any good legal podcasts that you'd recommend?
You'd think I'd know this, being a BAH alum... 😬 For job postings on the BAH careers site that list a specific clearance in the requirements, are those a hard requirement or will BAH hire you and sponsor you for it if you're a great fit for everything but the clearance? Mine went out of scope last year and I've been kicking myself for it ever since!
