Anyone a black inclusion network lead for D&I?
It just occurred to me that part of why I like posting on Fishbowl is that no one knows my gender
The current administration has banned critical race theory-based diversity training across federal agencies claiming education around white privilege is anti-American. As someone who is dedicated to anti-racism work, I believe these conversations on the pervasiveness of systemic racism are necessary in order to dismantle the broken system and are central to our work as HR professionals. I fear what precedent this ban will set. Thoughts from other HR pros? https://www.forbes.com/sites/janicegassam/2020/09/05/trump-bans-diversity-training-claiming-its-divisive-anti-american-propaganda/
This girl is the same age as me, makes over double what I do and went to a state school and majored in gender studies. So much for working hard in school and getting an in demand STEM degree 😅 FAANG or bust. https://youtu.be/KrB9iSd38LA
Someone last week asked about the authenticity of Diversity initiatives at work. Interesting piece from NY Times http://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/12/17/public-editor/new-york-times-diversity-liz-spayd-public-editor.html?referer=https://t.co/7Xo5N2j97t
LA vs San Diego? Can someone tell me the pros and cons of each city? I want to move to the west coast in the next year or so and debating between the two cities. San Diego looks like a beautiful city but seems to lack diversity from what I heard. Some background on me: late 20s, I’m black & latina, single, I have a puppy, I’m from NY but currently live in Boston, vegan, pretty active, people person but also enjoy a good amount of time to myself. Thanks in advance!
What do you think: Teachers should/should not discuss their opinions and ideas around sexuality, gender, and religion with students.
Any ideas/suggestions on how to go about forming a diversity committee at a mid size regional law firm? I expect it would be met with some amount of resistance. Thanks!
Diversity Pattern I keep noticing: pitch decks/campaigns. Half of the photos are of white people.. and the other half are black. No indian, hispanic, muslim & asian representation. It feels incredibly unbalanced. 🧐
"I have no idea what it's like to have my life circumstances affected by my race or gender but listen up because I've got a really important take about discrimination"
We always talk about diversity as being important, which it is, but if you don’t have diversity of thought what’s the point. We’re selling products to the masses not our very small advertising bubble.
How many agencies out there still have unpaid internships? To not pay a living wage for interns today seems hugely out of step with diversity goals.
I did a photo shoot for my firm’s diversity campaign and they made me look browner than I am to make a point :/ Not sure what to do
Looking for ideas on how other companies are celebrating and recognizing diversity holidays like LGBT pride month Juneteenth black history month women’s history month etc.Not just days off
To all my SDRs/AEs/AMs/BDRs that are out there, I’m running an experiment that I’ve never seen before: Have you ever worked together with a teammate to close your company’s deals? I’m talking start to finish of sales process, from cold call to closed booking. I’m curious to know if folks always tackle calls by themselves, particularly intro calls, and beyond. Obviously there has to be a handoff at some point, but where is that inflection point? Trust is probably THE most important rapport
Looking for advice or possible referral? Trying to exit from Boutique TMT strategy consulting (1.5YOE) to PEVC— from west coast target with 3.4ish GPA. Any suggestions on where to start or people I can DM? Thanks so much!!

Any tips on tactfully getting off an unending role (7+ years)? Has been a great place to start and grow a career. That said, I'm ready for a new challenge but worried I can't leave without quitting
Looking to get a new credit card. Is chase sapphire the best out there for cashback/benefits?
Considering switching from B4 audit to FDD in either B4 or Houlihan Lokey. Spoke with someone at PWC who said they usually do 50-60 hour workweeks. Anyone at HL by any chance that can tel me about their work schedule and culture?
Does anyone know the comp range for a business development manager at a SAAS firm with 6 yrs of experience
I'm sick of these politicians and their empty campaign promises. I want my Badacaf-care now!
Capital One 🐠: A friend is looking at a senior manager, product position at HQ and wants to know if the comp package she's researched is accurate--base of $170-180k, target bonus of 22%. Thanks!
Best-paid exits for healthcare consultants?
Why some HRs make a big fuss about being asked compensation questions and make you feel bad about asking them? Shouldn’t we clarify how we get paid for and what’s the potential upside?
What to do when you get a promotion but lower than expected salary adjustment? Does anyone have luck negotiating? Or if you’re happy with work otherwise is it better to just accept.
Switched birth controls due to change of insurance. I get so bloated the week before my period now. Like I used to get a little bloated before, but this is INTENSE. Any recommendations? TIA
Anyone know the comp for EY gig projects in internal audit or audit? Thinking about leaving my current job and doing gig work if it pencils before I find the next thing.
Interviewing with an agency in NYC, but I’ve never worked in that market, so I’d love some guidance. Nearly 5 years experience. Working at an accomplished place right now. Have several awards. What should be the LOWEST number I accept in a negotiation? This isn’t a big holding company shop, so I’m trying to prepare what realistically could be the lowest I go.
So I’ve gotten the AmEx Platinum offer for 150K bonus points (Gold for 75K). I have another corporate card so the annual fee is $550. Even without considering the statement credits, centurion lounge, etc… it’s worth it for the bonus alone right? Like 150K points > $550, and I get the perks as free benefit. I’d plan to downgrade in 1 year. Any thoughts?
Have salaries in advertising really changed over the years/decades? I remember in 1993 at Lowe NYC when the salary list was left on the printer... the CDs were making about $200k on average. That’s 27 years ago.
