I have a bit of an ethics question. I’ve accepted a job and start in a couple of weeks, but then my dream job at my dream company came available. Would you entertain interviewing with the dream job or would you hold off until you’ve been at the other company for 6mos-yr? I’m not one to burn bridges, but the other company/title/leveling is my ultimate longtime goal, whereas the accepted position is at a startup with growth opportunity (title is ok, pay/growth are stellar). Thoughts?

What are some good question to ask interviewers? I have an interview with one of the big 4 and haven't had an interview in ages, so I'm a bit rusty. Most of the suggestion I'm getting are stuff which can easily be answered by having a look at the company's website. I feel like every company lies about “working your way up.” You’re never allowed to blatantly say that you don’t like your position and you’d like to transition to HR or Finance. It’s almost as if once you get in claims, you’re stuck.

On a track for promotion for Q1 but feeling burnt out and like I can’t manage the workload in order to make that happen. I brought this up to my manager and she said “well we probably won’t be able to get you the promo until Q2 then in order to get all the data points needed”. Hi All, working for a small consultancy, I've been tasked to research bigger consultancies' ranks. Reason: Ours don't make sense (i.e. I am an associate, which in our company means 5+ yrs experience)

Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."

Just a reminder that outside our bubble no-one really cares about firm prestige etc.
