I have one of the small, lunch crock pots. I love it! I throw all kinds of good in there!
I have a mini fridge, Keurig, and microwave in my classroom. I only use the fridge but I have the other things for all of my coworkers. I even keep tea and coffee in the cabinet plus creamer in the fridge so that everyone has a place to go for a quick little drink. I also keep snacks in a cabinet that I don’t eat but they’re for my friends/coworkers. I make my classroom the place where everyone goes that needs a little snack, a hot drink, a bit of chocolate, or just a hug. The things I store in my room I don’t actually consume myself because I don’t eat anything with sugar but I’ve been teaching for a very long time and I know how comforting it is to know you have someplace to get something when you just need a little something. I also put an extra microwave into our teacher lunch room. It doesn’t take much to make life better for others.
You’re allowed to have appliances in your room? Not at my school.
Nor at my school, however most of the teachers do anyway. I just bring cold lunches....
Most of us have small refrigerators and microwaves in our rooms
I have a water boiler, microwave, and mini fridge in my room. The kids use the boiler all the time for noodles and cocoa. The guy across the hall from me has a Keurig. We’ve got multiple creamers, places for lunch, and the kids can stash stuff if they want.
For a few years they tried to force us not to have any of those things in our classroom. Eco-friendly guilt trips and use of electricity, etc. Several times people even had to hide their refrigerators but now nobody seems to care because the bottom line is we all need to be able to bring our things to school and be able to eat.

Mini fridge, microwave, and hot plate/skillet in my room. Won’t have time for a ride and a cigarette without them.
I was suspended pending an investigation of a student accusation. I was not told what it was about and HR called at 9:30 pm and left a message. I believe it was due to me blocking a student with my clipboard from entering the bus home as she was pushing the younger kids and I didn’t want them to get hurt. Previously she had been extremely disrespectful, refusing to give me her name, then gave me an incorrect name and refused to go to end of line. I’ve been told not to report to work, locked out of school and computer and email until investigation.
What are my rights? I’m heartbroken I’ve been accused as I’ve been a teacher for over 35 years?
Call union and look into early retirement- you done enough- take a break
I have a good thermos I use. It keeps things pretty warm and I have lunch at 1pm (which is late). It’s old school but there was a time when microwaves didn’t exist and this is what worked…
I use my tiny crockpot almost like a hotplate. I don't even take soup out of the can, I just pop the lid and set the whole can into the crockpot!
I started going to the bathroom at the same time my students did for lunch. We have a staff restroom in our hallway and I just tell them I'm going to get my lunchbox (also true). There's not enough time to go, heat up food, and eat.
My niece gave me a contraption called HOT LOGIC Mini Oven that she ordered from Amazon. It’s perfect for warming lunches. I plug it in about 30 minutes before lunch, and it’s piping hot and ready to eat by lunchtime.
I have my own microwave in my classroom.
I’m not allowed to have any appliances in my classroom. The lounge is on the other side of the building, so when I don’t feel like rushing during lunch I just eat my food cold 🤷🏻♀️
Mini fridge and coffee maker. Couldn’t live or work without them. 🤫
We are not allowed to have any appliances in our classrooms. Not even one of those quick water heaters. Nothing.
I’ve got a microwave, mini fridge, Keurig and an ice maker in my room. My team also eats lunch in my room so we use these every day.
Perks of being a Home Ec teacher...
I have my own Keurig, fridge, and microwave in my room. It makes life much easier. Many of us have to use the same RR as the students, because we have one single staff restroom for an entire three grades. The student ones for 5th/6th grade are just closer, and we have four minutes between classes. I hate it, because they can be pretty gross, but we do what we must.

Most of the time, I drink a meal replacement shake. I like 310 shakes the best!
Otherwise, I take a frozen meal BUT let it thaw in my thermal bag with a thin ice pack that keeps it from getting warm. This means it only takes a minute or two to heat up!
I have a mini fridge, mini microwave and single kuerug in my room
