Congrats! I just did the same and the first time traveling without pump, cooler, all the headache and logistics, was amaaaaazing!
Thanks OP.. shame on your SIL. You are doing an amazing job. Don't let no one tell you otherwise
I had trouble stopping because of being an overproducer (blessings and a curse!) So after trying all of the standard advice, I took Sudafed every night for about 5 nights and that dried things up.
9 months is fantastic! Don’t let anyone judge you! You know what babies need? Mom’s who aren’t mentally and emotionally exhausted from any particular feeding method! There is so much more in the big picture! #fedisbest 💛
Feeling guilty (my sister in law made some excellently subtle judgemental comments), but still totally worth it :)
Congrats OP!! As much as I love feeding my child with breastmilk, I cannot wait to stop. 9 months is amazing!
I just did the same after a year of pumping/breastfeeding. I put the pump in the closet and not going to look at it again! Freedom!! Feeling great! No pain or fullness.
Congratulations! 🎉 That pump is literally a ball & chain.
Feel ya, girl.
@OP..can you share details on how you stopped?. I am currently in this boat. Been breastfeeding and pumping for 8months. Plan on stopping in the next few months
You’re a great Mom!!
3rd baby on month 6. I will try to go for 3 more months. To stop just reduce your pumping. If you pump 2x scale to 1x. Then stop.
Kpmg2, slowly drop feedings/ pumping sessions. Dont drop them all at once or you can have issues. Would suggest hand expressing to relieve pressure. Also, think you can wear really tight bras to help.
I am heading back to work in a fee months and dreading pumping. Did it a year with the first, and really hoping to make it the same with this one.
Congrats OP!!
I dropped a session every third day until I was down to once in the morning, once in the evening. Then I dropped the evening session. Finally, i dropped the morning session.
Congrats! I hated my pump with a vengeance
I could have written this! I’m in the exact situation. I went almost cold turkey because I just couldn’t take it anymore and I was traveling for work that week. I waited as long as I could between pumps each time and ultimately was done after 3 it so days.
