Because I don't even have a passport for the country I am a dual citizen for, I didn't even think about the possibile complications this could lead to with my application. I applied through a career fair at school and didn't see the citizenship requirements, so I guess that's on me.

I’ve accepted a position with Deloitte and submitted my background check. I am not concerned about clearing the background check, but want to confirm that I have cleared the background check so I can give my two week notice. Turned down an offer with a startup because the work responsibilities seemed to be beyond my reach with the amount of exp I have. Unexpectedly, the hiring manager is asking for time and expressing that salary and remit can be negotiated... Does this happen often when candidates reject offers? I did not frame my declination as negotiatiable, so didn't expect this response.

Thoughts on offer? Early 30s but only 6 YoE. Is manager title worth sticking it out for?
