This may be a very generic advice. But try and identify transferrable skills. For example in your current role maybe you have good knowledge of how the insurance process works. Where else can it be applied. Or you maybe good at negotiations. Identify other roles that you think might benefit from those skills and start applying
Amazing! Thanks.
1. Total work ex is four years and you haven't already switched companies twice; Do it tommorow, take a 40-60% hike at minimum.
2. Do not micro specify your job roles in your resume.
(Example: Resolved 30 tickets every day sounds monotonous and mechanical. Focus on the skill you used to resolve those tickets. e.g Managed claim resolution with X% increase in revenue yoy).
3. Do not over focus on educational background while job hunting, with the e-learning resources available today you can legit learn the things required for most entry level roles.
4. The best time to start applying was a month ago, the second best time is now. Do not procastinate by over analysis.
5. Network, talk to people / friends from other companies who are in a role that you want or above it. Make the connections required, introduce yourself over linkedin. People are more than willing to help out; but you have to ask.
6. Make Ballsy moves. Competition for the best roles is the least, because the skillset required for them are hard to have. Put in the hard work to get the skillset for your dream job, you'll be surprised at how easy it is when you have put in the required work and have the skills.
I'm utterly amazed by the way you explained things! All of them make sense to me. Thank you for the suggestions.
PS. This is my 3rd company, also, I'm a very hard working guy, the data from all my companies states this.
I'll start looking up for new opportunities, if anything comes to your notice, please do tell.
While I'm on the same exact boat, I understand and relate and it's so painful. Currently I'm learning DevOps and looking for change immediately.
Yeah, totally!
If you feel you are not being valued at your current organization, it is a good idea to test the market.
Thank you for your reply! I'm looking for jobs and open to change. 🙏
