Hi All,

I discussed with my HR SPOC on 23rd July to revise my offer letter and counter the one I had just received from another organization. He told me he would get back to me but till now he hasn't. I have got a mail from IBM regarding a ticket they have raised for my request but I have not heard back yet. My date of joining in the other company is on 3rd August, one week from now. Will I get any word from IBM till then ? IBM

Bank clients- I know the chairman of a local but growing bank in my town. I want to reach out to market my firm and services, but I’m curious how I could be more specific in my discussions. I don’t want to say “I’m a transactional attorney” but I’d like to say “I could help with loan documents, UCC filings, etc.”. It’s the “etc.” I want to elaborate on. Anyone have any ideas what banks really need legal help with? Thanks!

Any Deloitte fish willing to shed some light on Deloitte's Value Creation Services (VCS) (part of M&A advisory). Potentially interested in making the move from strat. arm of other big player.

1) what type of engagements realistically make up most of the work?
2) where is VCS positioned within the org?
3) how does VCS within M&A advisory relate to work done at e.g., Monitor Deloitte?

Thanks.

I am pregnant with my 2nd and my job is very demanding. First trimester was bad for me with my first pregnancy and I took 2 months unpaid personal leave.
I can't afford that now and cannot risk my job. Not in public accounting anymore. I work in SEC reporting at a pharmaceutical company.

I am so thankful to be working from home for sure. I am just really dreaded to turn on my computer everyday with this hell of a morning sickness.

If you have been in similar situation. What worked for you?

Anyone have tips on actually “stopping the grind”? I’m in my second trimester of a high risk pregnancy and on busy clients until I’m due. (Senior Associate). Told my mgr and HR that I am expecting, but am still having to work until 2 am. Not getting enough sleep isn’t good my doctor said. How do I communicate this with my mgr? If I don’t stay up until al hours of the night, I won’t be able to get all my allocation done.. I’m stuck.

My teenage son is a freshman in high school. He's constantly stressed and anxious even though he's performing extremely well in classes. He's constantly saying he hates everything and is always tired. Moms of fishbowl - what is the best bottle warmer and sterilizer? I’m due in February, planning to do a combination of breast milk and formula (to ensure baby gets all his nutrients one way or another). We bought the baby brezza advanced with WiFi for formula, so more focused on a warmer + sterilizer combo thatll work for breast milk (and specifically thawing breast milk too). Seems there aren’t as many options for combo products with sanitizer, so maybe I’m asking for too much. Suggestions?

How long to wait before letting a nanny go back to work after covid? Our nanny started feeling sick around 9 days ago. She tested positive 8 days ago. Her symptoms have been very mild (just a cough and a runny nose) and she’s been essentially symptom-free for the past 48 hours. However, I had her take a rapid test just now and she is still testing positive. My husband and I both work full time from home and it would be ideal to have her come to work tomorrow. WWYD?? Thanks fishes!

So MIL has been watching my daughter off and on during the mornings this week because she has a cold and daycare won’t take her with her cough. Super grateful she’s here, but my MIL has been wearing new perfume or some sort of scent that has my allergies acting up and I don’t know if that is also contributing to my daughter’s cold. I’m getting to the point where my eyes are watering and I’m getting stuffed up because of the smell. My husband refuses to talk to her about it.

Hey ladies. In need of advice. My husband and I make the same salary, however, he makes overtime and I don’t. So technically that means he makes more than I do. Should I have him contribute more to the savings or bills if I do more of the housework?

Does anyone take day dates with their spouse/partner? By the time I get to bed, even on the weekends, I’m spent. I wonder if it would be more enjoyable to spend that time together during the day. We both work incredibly hard and are successful, but honestly I’m more the YOLO type and he probably would find it ridiculous to take this time off work. Has anyone found some enjoyment/benefit to spending time with your spouse like this?

What’s your biggest goal?

As a working mom it feels like setting goals outside of work is challenging. I find myself not meeting personal goals then revisiting them and tweaking them. I am curious what goals you’ve set for yourself personal or professional?

Anyone have advice on reviving a marriage that hasn't gotten any attention for too many years because kids and work come first?
My husband and I are pretty good co-parents, which is great, but he isn't very responsive to my attempts to make time for romance, & the relationship has died down after 19 years. (Sex is good but the emotional connection isn't.) Last kid at home graduates in 5 years, and we may become one of those couples that divorces after the kids leave the nest.
