After seeing many profiles in LinkedIn - I notice that people stay at Novartis for longer duration compared to their previous companies. Is it true that there is lower attrition in Novartis?

It depends on which branch you work at. I recently left for a varierty of reasons and I dont plan on returning anytime soon.

If one is performing over and above his role, wouldn't he be promoted? And give him the hike?
For lateral hires, the promotion will not kick in before 2 years of tenure with novartis. I got around 7% hike on my promotion.
Attrition is not crazy at Novartis Hyderabad. It has gone up a little in recent time due to great resignation wave, but lets not read too much into it since all companies have faced it!
Novartis is not a paymaster nor does it offer cutting edge work, then why do people still stay for long? Valid question!
Two reasons: One is chilled out life with reasonable job security which makes people very comfortable (even lethargic). Second one is that people who spend good period of time automatically get decent financial growth too, making it even more difficult to leave!!
Hey N1, It depends on many factors like 1.Package at time of joining, 2. Growth rate (speed of promotions) and 3. Market correction (as benchmarks now play important role because of PIR implementation and these benchmarks get revised periodically).
What I mentioned was more on basis of what I have heard or seen for some of my colleagues/friends. Salary ranges in glassdoor for different designation is available, you can figure out sweet spots for you based on your current situation :)
Which role are you talking about and YOE? That will decide if you want to go to a product based firm (not just Novartis). Many product based firm operate the same way
