After so many failures we are pregnant through IVF. Though my parents knew we were going through treatments never discussed in details. Early morning appointments, lots of medicines , lots of heartbreaks , trying everything we could. Being in an Indian household my mom didn’t acknowledge it which is okay but she thinks it’s okay to credit an aunt who prayed for us. I feel like someone else is stealing the thunder for all the hardships me and my husband had to go through. Just venting .

I know how you feel. I had placenta previa majority of my pregnancy and was told once it could be more serious (Accreta which could end in hysterectomy) and my dad kept saying it went away because HE “prayed to St. Anthony”. All I can say is brave yourself for more of this unless you have a conversation.

Completely understand as an Indian. Focus on the big picture and cut the noise.

This happened with me and my MIL. Now the baby is 2 months old, and I’ve shown her the cover of the Petri dish, the imagery of the embryo, and really talked to her about all the details re: IVF. Now she thanks god and science for her granddaughter. Which is progress!

Who are these people responding to surveys asking for full time return to office? Seems like every firm is now citing these surveys and how in office work leads to better productivity and mental health? No, spending 1 - 2 hours a day commuting, waking up earlier and sleeping early, displacing actual mental health boosting events like the gym with being stuck in traffic, and additional work that comes from being in the office does NOT boost my mental health.

I’m just looking to meet new people. As I’ve gotten older making new friends has gotten harder because so many of my friends have gotten married & went off in other directions & moved away. During the work week I have no time to do anything social. And weekends are lonely. So I’m just reaching out to make new friends. I’m 41 years old, woman & I’m a middle school reading teacher. Feel free to reach out!

We're in a relationship for 2 yrs & were living together this time. This yr we went thr some conflicts and about a month ago she said she wants to separate. Most of our conflicts are due to lack of communication & expectations until the very end. I really want this to work and I worked on myself to come close to her expectations for a month. When I bring up the topic to reconsider, she ends up having bad memories and frustrates easily leading to same concl. Idk wht else I can do for a good conv.
