After spending 2 years at a BigLaw firm (which were preceded by 7 years at a midsize firm and 4 years at small firms) I am considering a move to an in-house role at a late stage start-up. Is it time to make such a move considering how long I have been working at law firms or too soon to leave my BigLaw firm, as I have only been working there for 2 years? And if I were to leave, how would I explain such a move to my current employer?

Big Law loves when you go in-house. Throw them some work when you get there.

I don’t really think it requires much of an explanation. It’s big law. Just say the truth. Two years is fine.

It’s never the wrong time to take a position you’re passionate about.

I don’t think so. Biglaw is exhausting and stressful and if you’re in a position financially to leave, nobody will think less of you

Go in-house unless you want to bet on becoming partner. Your current employer will treat you well if you are going to a place that can refer business back to the firm. I think there’s long term value in getting the partner title if that’s a shot for you, but I see no value in serving as counsel for 2 years vs counsel for 4 years.

I feel like I'm making a very basic error here, but I'm not sure what. I'm interested in opportunities with Google's Professional Services Organization (PSO). However, my applications to PSO, to date, always end with a standard reject email. I've tried applying three times. Don't plan on applying again anytime soon. But every time I've rewritten my resume to super closely match the requirements of the role. Is there something concrete PSO recruiters are looking for? I am 2xGCP certified.

Is anyone willing to share the cost of Austin Belcak's Dream Job System Course?

https://cultivatedculture.com/djs-course/

What is this? It's a course on finding a job. He guarantees a 30 days 100% refund too.

I know this is going to sound stupid, but here's why I think the course is worthwhile. I have been following Austin's Belcak's website Cultivated Culture for a while. Most of his job search strategies are legit, I found tons of value in implementing them.

2nd year associate here. Has anyone made a jump from a boutique firm to big law? I found out that I’m a front runner for a gig with an Amlaw 100. I never thought I’d have this chance having graduated from an unranked law school and still being so junior. Even though the firm asked if I’d be willing to start as a 1st year given my lack of litigation experience, it’s still a monumental upgrade/ jump. I’m nervous about the culture shock and whether I’ll cut it. Could really use some advice!
