After spending close to 1k doing various types of psychological evaluation I have been diagnosed with ADHD. On one hand I'm relived as I have a way forward but at the same time, want to know if this is some information I should share with my team for alternate work arrangements? Such as frequent check ins, soft review for small mistakes before being reviewed by partner etc .

You don't have to share your specific diagnosis to get accomodations! Sometimes you can just let people know that you have a chronic issue that flares up that can make it hard to complete things. That when you have a flare up, you will notify of any delay and work for other team members to cover you or make it up at a different time.

I've have success with this regarding depression flare ups and needing days off work.
For ADHD sometimes it's just having more checkpoints because I know I focus better when I have to show someone my work

Find out what works for you and communicate it, it doesn't have to be in the context of illness but it can be.

i just got diagnosed with ADHD a week ago! at 25 but i got some really helpful responses, the consensus was not to tell anyone!

I feel the same way had no idea about this disorder until a couple of years back from some friends who had this. Getting diagnosed at 33 is super weird as I never had access to mental health care growing up

I don't know who needs to hear this, but I have a few former classmates and colleagues sweating over lateral interviews. Take a deep breath and relax.

First, doing these interviews does not define you as a person.

Second, take it one day at a time; if they are moving forward, they see something in you.

Third, remember that the people interviewing you are human beings. Connect with them, be personable.

Hi, I am a single-parent with a 9 year old daughter. Is anyone else dealing with same gender sleepovers with sexual exploration occurring? Exploring as in my daughter says outright “I am going to kiss you,” to her bestie before bed. I was working for ad agency here in Minneapolis and they reached out to me on LinkedIn without a job description saying that they wanted a seasoned digital project manager which I am. I just was in a 3 process interview, which included modern hire interview, interview with hiring manager and interview with senior director(Boss’s boss) for another company. The hiring manager liked me and the interview went well to progress, the next interview also went well. In this situation who would make the final decision to hire me? Less than a year before I can retire and not sure I can make it. The stress at home, work and with the aches and pains of my 54 year old body are taking their toll. I wake up every weekday and dread the coming 14 hour day. I live for the bliss of two days off on the weekend when I can attempt to just ignore everything until Monday morning.

So my bipolar dad got declined for a mortgage because disability gets shut off in < 3 years when he turns 65. So now he wants me to co-sign for him. Between housing markets being up, my concerns over his money mgmt, and concerns over tying up my credit there’s no way I can say yes. He sold his house before being approved for the new one he put in for (against my advice). I know he won’t understand and will take this personally, and the family will probably take his side. Getting to the point where some days I completely shut down. Cry in the bathroom at work. Can’t do anything. Next day I can manage it all pretty well. Im under a tremendous amount of pressure (working 2+ roles) with no leadership and minimal help. I’m really good at hiding/covering up my emotions so I’m sure no one knows. How do you deal with irrational anxiety whenever your boss is saying “hey let’s schedule 1:1, I’ve got a few things to discuss”? I’ve never had a bad performance rating before, quite the opposite I have received positive feedback. I also know 99% of the time this meeting is harmless and my anxiety has been proven wrong many times. But I’m still always on edge whenever this kind of meeting is scheduled. 😩

Also, yes I do go to therapy and have discussed this issue, but it hasn’t helped
