90 day notice seems pretty generous to me. I'm assuming your saying people are still on salary for that period. Afterall, when is the last time you personally gave an employer anything more than 2 weeks notice before you quit?

I met with these LS cats multiple times starting last summer. Shame how things have shaken out for the talented folks who served a tragically weak leadership team. Bad PR, reputation as a sweat shop, average creative product...that beautiful office won’t be enough to recruit and retain talent.

CW1, that’d be a fun story if someone stopped caring and just came up with the most ridiculous ad campaigns and they ended up selling and getting made and winning lions. And the creative couldn’t recreate that success at their next agency.

Yeah I’ve actually never heard of a 90 day notice period before, unsure what the initial business strategy was to do this.. esp knowing people on the 90 day notice (even if they are on call or working overtime) are going to be pretty mentally checked out and using as much time as possible desperately trying to find a new job

it does seem generous, and it’s amazing for people who still get paid full salary and they don’t have to come in for 90 days, but others have to work and win new business and come in everyday (and overtime) and then on Oct 7 everyone who had to work overtime and those who don’t have to come in will be laid off with no severance pay. If you decline to come in you will automatically be fired. Don’t know how generous that is, especially after the CEOs + wife CCO that quit with millions of $ payoffs from Papa John.

I think it’s generous in length of time for shorter tenure employees. It also serves their business goals, which isn’t awful, but obviously you’ll want to calibrate effort and dedicate time to job hunt. If they aren’t recognizing that in workload, than it’s unreasonable. I also find the reference to race gratuitous .

I worked for a marketing dept for Macy’s for years before putting book together. I got laid off in 2009 economic crisis. They paid us for 3 months and told us we needed to come in one day a week. I’m in SF. I wonder if it’s a California thing, with Wasserman also a CA company. Just a guess

Is this accurate? AFAIK everyone is getting paid the 3 months. Some people were immediately let go, others were asked to be “on call”, a few were asked to stay to help with existing & new business. But they’re all getting paid and retaining benefits. And leadership told us to look out for each other & try to surface opportunities for coworkers... so they know everyone is interviewing & sending out applications during downtime. What’s the issue? It’s a good deal for an unfortunate situation. Unless I’m mistaken/ not everyone is getting paid their salary.

Sick of biglaw but I want to stay one more annual bonus season. I’m seriously burned out and would like to shift gears but I’d like to leave after ending my 5th year. Any tips for someone who discounts good feedback but heavily focuses on the opportunities to improve? So much that I have a fear of getting fired despite receiving overall good feedback. I started a new job earlier this year. The function of the role and industry is new to me. My manager told me he generally has higher expectations than the rest of the organization.
