After working in DevOps in a huge bank for 1.5 years I’ve decided in general it isn’t for me. It was the first job I got offered out of university and jumped at it due to my family situation to just start saving money.

Looking at AI/ML developer jobs in the Netherlands since this is what I specialised more in at University. Any recommendations or referrals please let me know!

What didn’t you like about it? I’m interested in the field so any criticism is very welcome.

Can you pivot internally? Shadow someone in AI/ML within your company to bridge skills/knowledge gaps?

I have never done freelance work and was given the opportunity to take part in a cool project. My problem is it’s a proactive case by a brand new agency and it’s their own project, meaning there’s no client who pays for the work. For them it’s PR for their new business, but I think they’re expecting me to work completely pro bono. It does have potential for a great case and I’d love to have it in my portfolio, but is it reasonable for them not to compensate me? Any tips on how to approach this?

After college I was making 50K in the US… 2 years later I moved to Netherlands and my salary is 43K now. I know Europe pays lower than US but this still hurts.
Different companies, similar industries. How do you negotiate a higher salary in Europe? Is it wishful thinking to want a bigger salary with 2 years of experience in Europe?

I'm in the last stage of the screening process for an Amazon AWS security engineer position. Due to the recent hiring freeze, I was given two options: - go through the last screening (5x1 hour interviews) and, if accepted, wait for a position to open. If not accepted I have to wait 1 to 2 years to apply again, as usual. - OR don't go through the screening and having to go through another screening process. Advices on what to do are welcome. Right now I'm more prone to go through the interview.

Hi everyone. I have an interview with Cisco for their product manager SSO role, Has anyone interviewed for this role or with company, what kind of question are expected in their process. Thanks

I wanted to get people's opinions on leetcode, codewars etc when prepping for interviews. I am a junior full stack dev looking to move to a better paying junior role or a mid role and honestly these style of questions have always stumped me. I have found that in a year of work to have never found them useful in tackling real world issues. Now I'm moving from a junior to a mid can I still expect leetcode style questions?

I work mainly with react, TS, node, graphql, mongoose and mongoDB.

I got a call from a number by searching on the internet I found out it was from UBS UK due to some network error their call kept dropping. They didn't send me any emails afterward. When I tried calling on that number the phone operator said that it was UBS's central number and she has no idea who was calling from that number. Now I don't have any idea how to contact them back.

Why is it so difficult to make the next career move within your OWN company. I have over 7 years of experience across multiple departments and yet an external company is more willing to give an interview to select roles than your own home company for the same role internally!!

Where is the loyalty in that !!??
