26, $10k. Commenting to let others know that not everyone has the above.
Life events and medical came up that have caused me to allocate significant funds elsewhere. Only JUST starting to contribute
Great comment. I just checked, and when I was 26, I had $19k put away. You're still young, don't sweat it. Better late than never, just do what you can, when you can.
42, 381k. Spouse 384k. For perspective I'll add that at 28, I had 27k, since it appears the average person here is in their 20s. Unfortunately only contributed to the company match probably until only 5 years ago. Didn't start maxing them out until 3 years ago. But finally at a point where we are contributing 86k+ to retirement each year. Point is, it adds up fast, even if you think you're behind the game.
Yezzir...sometimes people forget the easy stuff. Make sure there some kind of inflationary rider. Is she private practice or employee of hospital or group?
32, $130 combined
I was happy with this until I read this thread. 😅
32, $270k in 401k and $70k in Roth IRA
B2, early in my career (7-10 years ago) I contributed a lot to my Roth IRA and because the market’s been going gangbusters, most of the value is in market gains.
23, 2k 401k, 6k Roth
Keep going!
33, $18k. Left workforce at 25 when had a kid. At 33 this is my first job in close to a decade and I plan to max 401k to try and make up for lost time. I know I’m behind but I’m thankful for the opportunity I’ve been given ☺️
Best of luck A1! Good to see you putting family first over career.

Who all here is in PA? I'm 25 and I have 15k... match is atrocious and salary isn't large enough to save heaps of money
Keep at it EY. Just be consistent. Every month, every job. Even if it’s only 10% - you won’t miss it. It compounds over time like you wouldn’t believe.
25 years old
401k: $35K
Real Estate: $63K
Cash: $33K
Didn’t start maxing until after I acquired my first rental prop.
