The problem with diversity is they focus on a quota rather than changing the culture of marginalized groups in the office. So often people speak over me, take credit for my ideas... and it's accepted.
In your opinion, what can schools and districts do to make racial diversity in management and corporate leadership positions a priority?
How would you suggest combating the “diversity hire” stereotype in your firm? A lot of managers at my firm don’t want to work with “diversity hires” because they think those people got a large advantage in the application process and aren’t as likely to be qualified as a result.

Companies need to not dilute diversity with this whole diversity of thought jibberish - there are real issues re: bias, race, gender and respect in the workplace. Education around how to build better
My in-laws think any woman or black person in a leadership position is there because of diversity and that companies shouldn’t try to put any effort into promoting diversity in their recruitment because it harms minorities as people will always think those minorities are in a position of power only because they were hired because of gender/race quotas. They also think it’s perfectly justified in prioritizing hiring a woman over a man (all else being equal) because of potential for ‘me too’. 😣

Can someone share gender pay gap articles? The only stuff I found doesn't control for education and experience and just looks at the total average by gender. Would like to see the pay gap difference when these variables are the same. TIA.

Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.

Not sure if my question will make sense but I am really curious. When it comes to salaries in the consulting world, do we end up reaching a peak in our base? And then must rely on bonuses for increases in total payout? I am curious because it seems like there are only about 5-8 official career ladder steps. I’m also curious to understand what salary trajectories are over time especially for people who have started in consulting and have basically never left this career path for 10-20 years.

How does everyone bill for travel? Example - flying out Monday for a depo on Tues Wed, flying back Thursday. My gut has always been to bill for working hours time on the flying days and hearing days, but is that what everyone does? Can I bill 8 hours (or more) for a full travel day even if I’m not working every minute (but I’m also not not-working)? Nobody at my firm talks about this and at this point I’m too embarrassed to ask.
