I'm so glad this is anonymous, because I could freely say I couldn't wait to get back to work! I feel so bad saying it, but it's true. Two to three weeks was enough for me. I share a nanny with a neighbor in the DC area and it's been working great.

So I am totally going to go off the deep end here, but I could not wait to go back to work after having the baby. I went back at 2 months. I felt like a terrible mom at home. I delegated all that work, pumped in the office, and felt alive again.

like

All a personal choice. For me going back was hard but would have been a hard transition at any time. Once I had settled in I was so glad that I had come back right away. I love my baby but it is so nice to go do intellectually stimulating work all day, sit and enjoy a cup of coffee in peace, etc. :). But every woman is differently

like

What does your situation look like if you go back instead? I’ve got to tell you, coming back is rough no matter what, but it’s harder the younger they are. I think it took me 6 weeks just to figure out how to get out of the house in a predictable amount of time in the morning (it got easier as her sleep schedule stabilized )

like

OP - speak to your company leadership/HR to see if you can find a WFH to hell you transition back?

like

Take the time to spend at home... work will be there for you when you return. You can’t get this time with your child back and there will always be a client project.

like

In my experience people help you slowly adjust and are conscious of your needs and limits in the first year to make it work for you in this transition period. That said, I would personally take a 6 month total... my baby was not yet sleeping well at the 4 month mark for me to feel properly at work

like

If there are great projects waiting for you, or a great role though, I’d say go back. It’s easier to reengage when you feel challenged

I had a hard time with PPD, and I was authorized an additional 8 weeks for medical reasons. Talk to your HR and senior leadership about your needs. I think most are pretty supportive

I felt similarly and decided to take the unpaid leave. When else in your career can you get away with it? I was itching to get back into a routine, but looking back I'm glad I spent a few extra weeks with the baby.

OP - it comes down to what you want more. Are you chomping at the bits to get back to work (for your own sanity) or are you looking to spend more time with the baby. That’s it. Finances etc will all work out later. Good luck 🙌🏼

I decided to take 4 of the six weeks available unpaid. Financially it’s too stressing to not get a paycheck, but also pwc has a great new return to work program... work 3 days/week for full pay for 4 weeks. Baby will be about 5.5 mos old. Thx for the support mamas!

After 6 yrs of PM/PO out of college working for Cigna, I was informed my position is being eliminated due to “staff reductions to combat with rising costs of healthcare.” I was offered severance & I’ve got several positions in the works with the same company thankfully. I was caught off-guard, never had a bad review & was expecting a promotion soon. If there’s ever been a sign to jump ship it’s now. I’m an enthusiastic PM ready to embrace new challenges. Any1 want to hire me? DM for resume! 🤝 🤞🏼

So far I’ve been through 1 IVF cycle. I have one embryo that is frozen waiting for transfer. My doctor is wanting me to do another round of IVF to back eggs for baby number two down the road. Has anyone been through this? I know of two people around my age that got pregnant naturally with their second baby after IVF. Does anyone know about banking embryos for future use instead of transferring? My insurance doesn’t cover anything so all this of out of pocket.

To start of there is a co share of premium for a base sum insured of 3L which comes around 1790/- Then skipping the benefits for a second if I jump on to the claim part there is a Copay of 10-90. Employee will have to bear 10% of the claim and insurer will bear the other 90%. For dependents 20-80 Copay. Are the benefits are good enough to consider copay and subscribe ? Please Suggest.

Hi! We have a jogathon fundraising in my son’s school. Most of our families are overseas, and don’t want to ask donations to few friends during this difficult times. Our friends also have school age kids. Is it ok if we just do one donation as family? My son wanted to get the expensive prices, but dont want to spend $150 for a kid’s hot lunch. Sorry if it is a dumb question but it is our first fundraising. Thanks

Transitioned from my first job (in-house at large tech company) to a boutique firm where "quality" is king. Problem is, every partner/client has their own idea of what "quality" is. Feeling like I'm starting over brand new, and the stress is really getting to me. Everyone at my old job told me I was at the top quality-wise, but the partners at the firm all tell me it's going to be 2 years before I'm really confident/comfortable. I'm a 6th year. Is this normal? Having bad imposter syndrome.
