Any women on here make significantly more than their (male) SO? I’m trying to be a good millennial and not tie my happiness to gender norms but every few months I get upset (cont)..
In the final round of interview with a San Fran startup that’s about to go IPO... but I know I’d be also giving up lots of the structures & project flexibility & diversity offered here at big 4. What rationale would you use to make a decision?
Something I’m struggling with as it relates to the rise of the “Karens”. I get it, Karens suck and are very real but why is it that women always have to deal with this kind of stereotype? Men, especially Trumpian white men, are just as bad about their own privilege. Maybe they handle it differently or maybe people are less inclined to record them? I don’t know. But somehow it feels like yet another divide between women. Just wish we could make it less about gender and more about privilege.
There’s been a rise in Diversity equity and inclusion trainings. My experience with these has always been terrible. How has your experience been? Anyone have good experiences? If yours has been terrible too, what should they have done differently?
How do we encourage our agencies to hire based on potential, not experience? Everyone wants diversity but everyone wants cookie cutter award-winning creatives too, which often don't necessarily match

Why is it diversity in the workplace for women is a recognized problem firms are trying to solve but diversity for underrepresented minorities isn't viewed as an equal priority?
On a scale of 1 to 10, how male dominated is your team/practice/office? 1=gender parity 😃 10=only 1-3 women 😒

DMA: Do they even acknowledge your messages? If so, what’s your gender/ethnicity? I’m a fan, but wonder if they’re selective bc of sheer volume, or I’ve been ignored bc I’m not their peeps (white/M)😔
Does anyone feel like the 'token' diversity person in a room/meeting and how do you deal with it?
Everyone: We asked for diversity and visible minorities in this video. This edit shows 90% whites dudes... The producer: The guy in the first shot is latino and there’s also an Irishman and an Australian bro at the end 😑
From one HR to the other - what do we think about the level of diversity shown in this vid released by my employer earlier today? I think they‘ve done a nice job trying to feature a good mix but might‘ve actually „overdone“ it? Might be cause I’m used to male-only engineering lol https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6871427562401275904
Any Latinos feeling left out of all this diversity buzz? Seems we are always invisible :/
From the moderator, for discussion. Should white males be concerned that current focus on diversity will lead to negative results If Yes, why and under what conditions If No, why not?
If you haven’t been around a lot of black woman in your life or have a true cultural diversity experience, your opinions on Kamala are like Trump opinions on him paying federal taxes....can’t be taking serious. Or better yet like that fly on Pence head...similar to a fly on bul****!

From talking to students at multiple M7 schools, it seems like all of the BB/MBB/FAANG companies recruit at most if not all of the schools . So if you're planning on recruiting for one of these, is there really a major difference in career opportunities between each school? Asking because it seems like some schools are specifically known for finance vs consulting vs tech, but if the companies are all recruiting at all these schools, the differences don't seem as pronounced to me.
What’s the timeline for suffering through a role at your new firm before boomeranging back? How do you approach your old manager about returning? We still have a great relationship and there were no hard feelings about me leaving.
What is the average promotion cycle in KPMG audit in the US for experienced M (recruited from outside to the US) to SM?
How did you set your rent budget when moving in with a partner? I make £125k base (£167k inc bonus), and my boyfriend makes £95k base (£105k inc bonus). I’m used to allocating 30% of my take-home pay to rent, which is about £1800/mo for a charming neighbourhood in zone 1, but my bf’s used to paying closer to £1000/mo to live in zone 6 and balks at the rent prices I think are reasonable given our incomes and locations we want (zone 2). We both wfh so ideally want a 3BR. (Continued in comments)
I don’t think I have enough saved (80-100k) to justify a financial advisor. But I also was never taught/learned about money management and planning. Are there any good resources or books in which I could learn about how to invest in my retirement?
Not in busy season right now but slammed with a ton of work for a month end deliverable. Team is working super long days and everyone on my team (at least associates/seniors) is feeling super burnt out and morale is super low ☹️ any tips on how to increase team morale? I know it’s hard for most people right now as we come up on the 1 year mark of covid lockdown in the US.
26M, making $150k base at a healthcare startup doing strategy. Also about to finish a part time masters (non-MBA), and planning to find new roles after that. I took the gmat back in 2017 (710) and realize that if I don’t apply this year for an MBA I’d have to retake the test. Do you think an MBA would be helpful to advance my career at this point assuming I stay the course in healthcare? Is an executive mba in a few years a better move? Is a 710 good enough to apply to top 10 schools? TIA!
Who decides the compensation for big 4 experienced hires? Is it the interviewing partners?

If you had 2 offers, would you take one you’d like a little less in terms of the work to have more flexibility (work from home, leave when you need to, etc)?
