Hi fishes, in urgent need of your suggestions.
One of my friend is having offer from Oracle Pune for software developer role in Oracle store team. but he does not have clear idea of the role whether it will be operations, support or development work.
Does anyone know what kind of work is there in store team. Also, is it possible to change the project once we get inside?
Urgent suggestions required...
Thanks!

I've worked at the same engineering firm for 4 years. I'm currently making $161k with only a $750 bonus, but excellent vacation (4 weeks, cash out anytime, rolls over indefinitely), 45 hours a week. I have an interview with a recruiter at Guidehouse this week for a Technical Project Manager role. It seems to be focused in the government space and requires a security clearance. What sort of salary and benefits could I expect for this sort of role at Guidehouse?

100% - every agency I’ve worked at. account execs with 2 years of experience acting like they own the place and analytics works for them.
I get this all the time from junior account members and strategy team members as well. I ask them to explain why it is they are asking what they’re asking, and what they are trying to demonstrate. They usually can’t answer
Yup, that sums it up. Sometimes they even tell you how it is done and what the best method is
Are we working in the same place? :)
It was a joke. Sorry :)
As account: yeah we screw this up quite a bit. I could give you all the reasons why the client pushed or this that or the other thing. One thing that's worked for us is I have analysts who are client-friendly enough to be in the room. Even if you don't say anything, offer to be there at meetings more. Then, we're more accountable to you and if the client asks for an unreasonable deadline or bad methodology, you have the floor to course-correct before it devolves into the chaos we're all familiar with.
The one thing I’d add is that if you’re an analyst and uncomfortable speaking up, you need to work with your client lead ahead of time to prepare an appropriate response to your client. “We’ll take it back to the analytics team/lead(s) to confirm timing and add any clarifying questions.” Then set client expectations by adding when you’ll get back to them. 🙂
I always say, you agreed to the timeline so you assumed the work load. Next time they will invite you.
We all work at the same place lol
