I actually thanked a TSA agent for being at work last week when I was flying home.
Air traffic controller is one of the most stressful jobs ever.
My friend is a single mom in that situation. I’ll get my tax return but she doesn’t get her paycheck and workload doubling as contractors call in sick - they won’t get back pay. I’m grateful for her efforts but agree when she says this feels like slavery. She’s looking for other jobs, but so are hundreds from same agency in this city. Gofundmes aren’t growing much for them. Other or better ways to help them? Gratitude is a great start
Multiple govt employee unions started class action lawsuits the first day of the shutdown. I'm curious to see if the cases make it before a judge before it's over and they get paid.
Is it just me or isn’t the laws backwards? Congress gets paid during the shutdown even though they are the ones responsible for managing and passing the budgets???
