Virtually our whole firm moved from another firm and I’d like to think we stick around for a reason. Pros: compensation, career progression(until director level), strong teams , less bs, great expense policy Cons: transparency in reviews and comp. , general processes

How do you adapt to the delivery model change? Meaning not having analysts and associates to do basic stuff, building models, etc. ? I guess in this model you don’t have a ton of upwards management internally right?

No.

I am looking in earnest for opportunities to start a business that I can exit in 5-6 years and have some reasonable or moderate return on my startup expense plus operating profits, at a minimum cash flow. I will leverage debt to fund startup expenses. Perhaps continue in consulting to take the pressure off for a couple years at least while family assists with day to day etc. Roughly 100-150k .. Thoughts?

Freelance creatives, how do you get medical/dental coverage and insurance (assuming you're not relying on a partner with coverage)? Or do you pay out of pocket for each expense?

Boutique 6-attorney PI firm, I’m a 6th year associate. The managing partner keeps all finances locked up tight - no transparency on ANYTHING, even performance metrics/bonuses. Office Manager is out on medical leave and entrusted me with the login to the quickbooks in case any attorneys need to generate case expense reports… talk me out of the temptation to peek at the other financials please!!

Just agreed with my sister to send $$ every month from now on to our parents to support their retirement. I know there is enough to be said and asked about side hustles but right now I should start looking at each options. I am proud to be able to support my parents who don't have retirement safety net provided by the government.

I’m getting so stressed about my wedding- it’s a very small (44 people) destination wedding 2 months away. A year ago before we booked the venue we reached out to all 44 people to ask if they’d be willing to travel, everyone gave a resounding yes. Now when we’ve given people a deadline to buy flights (so we can arrange a shuttle service from the airport to the venue a few hours away and save people the hassle / expense of renting a car or cab) a few people are dropping out and we haven’t (cont)
