All else equal, would you rather work at Spotify or Okta? And why?

Spotify because media and entertainment is more interesting than login software

And I’m sure Spotify execs get to meet some really people (eg A listers)

Both are compelling. Spotify is one of the premier B2C products out in the market, with an amazing culture (seriously read up about how they set up teams), but it is vastly maturing.

Okta is interesting because demands for IAM are going to continue to grow, especially in the future. It's more than just "login" and their acquisition of Auth0 opens new doors. But that's largely enterprise level B2B focused work.. Not consumer-focused as much.

Okta’s a super interesting business in growing and rapidly changing market.

Spotify sounds like you have to deal with the LA insta influencer/Hollywood/big music record types. And is B2C. Yuck

Is anyone at a job they really, truly enjoy that also pays competitively (and has good benefits)? In my experience, I haven’t found anything that satisfies both. Either I love the job and I’m grossly underpaid or the job is totally mediocre but the money is great. Is it really possible to have it all or do I need to lower my standards? Maybe it’s just the way this industry is?
