Yes of course boomerangs are a common thing and honestly B4 is like higher education industry - very incestuous. Everyone moves from one competitor to another and back again :)
Edit: this btw is a much much faster strategy for getting the salary increase you deserve vs the 2 percent increases they reward 10 year loyal folks for (for both industries) - actually accounted for in leadership discussions across B4 firms
Agreed, if it was in my old department would have been easier - but really want to get into this new department (didn’t realise it even existed during my time at the b4).
Linked in stalk people who are in the team and see if any share a connection with you (either a person, same school, interests, etc) and cold call them asking for 15-20 min and come prepared with agenda/questions.
Do you think they’d give me benefit of the doubt if they know I’m ex employee of their firm - talking from a hiring perspective
