All I get is rejections when I apply for jobs, the only interview I got was a referral. What am I doing wrong?

SM1 - my husband had his professionally done as part of a relocation package I was on (relo company helped to get him a job too). He thinks they made some good changes both in content and in formatting. I think it’s always worth having someone else take a look at it.

I met with an external recruiter once and he marked up my resume for free based on the types of jobs I said I was looking for.

like

Resume is a big deal unless you are already in. Have someone outside the firm take a look and give you feedback. Many people provide this as a free service. Also ask recruiters if you are using them. (Some are good)

Anyone ever get their resume professionally done? Wondering if it is worth it. Haven't needed to update mine in many years and really struggling to do so now that I want to change jobs...

It is becuz you have not tried hard enough to apply for jobs. And how determined you are to achieve matters too.

From my experience it seems like typically you will hear something within 10-14 days of applying but that depends on which month you apply.

Hi everyone,

I was affected by layoffs about a month ago and urgently looking for a good immigration lawyer. The lawyer should be experienced in handling this 60 day grace period situation and developing alternate strategies - such as change of status to B1/B2 or applying to jobs from India. There is a lot of noise and wrong information going in the market so looking for good recommendations.

I have very little time left for my grace period to end and need a consultation soon. Thanks

Any recommendations for getting a job interview at Deloitte in DC for something other than audit or federal practice when coming from a top 10 size firm?

I'm an experienced Generalist/HRBP for an extremely high volume/large org. I have a masters in HROD and SHRM-CP. My role is getting to be more and more transactional by the day, all my strategic projects get pushed to the side by the endless daily fires that are, inevitably, tracking down employees and data entry. I'm actively looking for a new role (preferably Sr generalist etc), but can't seem to stand out among the crowd. Any tips? Louisville, KY.

I started at a new firm this year in January. I had a billable goal that was given to me mid year of around 1750 house for the year. I am nowhere near that and definitely will not meet the goal. I had so many non billable hours I was forced to take when I first came in. I worked my ass off in busy season. At my previous firm I never fell short of hours as it was B4. This firm is mid sized and more focused on WLB. My question is how bad do you think this will affect my comp??
